I am so excited to introduce to you a face I am sure anyone who reads the feeds is familiar with…. Sileny Noel.

Sileny Noel writes for numerous blogs including Free*Style and Broke By Pay Day.  She owns the store Mango, Mango! skins and spends most of her time in a skybox.

Hello!  I am very excited to be a guest blogger for Second Style today.  I was a little torn as to what I should wear for this post.  I thought I should go through and find my favorite new releases, bring in a  new look, etc.  The problem was, I couldn’t decide!  Nothing was hitting the spot.  I was grumbling to my husband when he said “You should go to Clawtooth.”

Now…my husband does not participate in SL.  He rarely looks at any blog posts I do.  Yet he remembered Clawtooth by Clawtooth hair!  If that doesn’t say much about quality then I don’t know what does.  With that I figured why do a post of brand new items I will toss in a week when I could a look of old favorites that are well made and will be hard to forget?  And that’s why I am showing you these great pieces from places like Clawtooth by Clawtooth, =Feather= and Milk Motion.  I hope you enjoy them!

I don’t believe in bad luck…I think we make our own luck. Friday the 13th? Just another day before I get to wake up and spend the day doing things exactly the way I want to.

If you haven’t heard, Dutch Touch is having a pretty awesome sale on their skins. The one I am wearing is AmbeR in Ebony, and it is no secret how much of a huge Dutch Touch skin fan I am. One of my absolute faves! This is the most perfect time to tp over there and stock up because the sale ends, Saturday August 14.

The outfit is the top of the dress from *League* Studded Scoop-Back which I paired with shorts from Elephant Outfitters and a group gift belt from COCO’s.  The wristbands come with the dress…very cute.Quick peek of the back of the top “dress”, love the scoope back!

And it’s so hard to do and so easy to say.
But sometimes – sometimes,
you just have to walk away – walk away.

With so many people to love in my life, why do I worry about one?
But you put the happy in my ness, you put the good times into my fun.

2010 Shoe Fair opens 8/7/2010 at noon SLT! This year the expo is to benefit Souls4Soles, which you can read about here: http://www.soles4souls.org/ . The event will run from August 7 – 22, 2010. Over 50 Shoe designers from across the grid are participating. Very very cool!

I was lucky enough to get into the fair early and let me tell you something….awesome! So many fantastical stores, with amazing new releases, the build is incredible, everything rezzed SUPER quick, and yeah.  I am still excited. You should be too!

They have a lot of new fun things at the expo…including Gatcha machines with special items from Adorkable Poses, Boom, Exodi, Glitterati, Whippet & Buck, Diesel Works, Haven Designs, Stellar and Fri.day!

The dress I am wearing in the pic is from Haven Designs and I loveeee it pretty hard.

Oh but wait, this is about shoes right? Like my shoes? Course you do! They are the new ones from Surf Couture and only one of the amazing pairs that I was lucky enough to come home with.

Sweet and simple..that is the theme for today in my world.

The skin is by one of my favorite designers, Dutch Touch. My skin folder from there is bursting at the seams and that is exactly the way I like it. More more moreeeee, please!!!

The top is from Indie Rose and I love it! The fatpack is sooo reasonable and it comes 5 different colors. Well, the top is white on all but the butterflies and the ribbons on the shoulders are different colors. Very cute! Perfect for summer in any life.

The shoes are the lovely Espadrilles by Gos that if you don’t own yet…why not? Hair is the latest and greatest by Truth, maybe you have heard of him? Once or twice, right?

The jeans….ah the jeans are making me sad today. Let me tell you why. They are by Phoenix Rising, which just announced yesterday that they are closing for good. I used to be the Marketing Manager for Phoenix Rising and Ashoka Eales is someone that I call a dear friend in every life….and it just really bummed me out to hear about it.  I understand though and wish her the very best. Something tells me we have not seen the last of the lovely Ash.

Right now everything at Phoenix Rising in on sale for 100L so quickly get over there before it is all gone for good.

Mmm…MiaMai, where have you been my entire SL?

The other day, that bossy little Aradia sent me a picture followed with an message screaming about how I had to go to Miamai and buy the skirt she was wearing in the picture. I had never heard of the store before, so I made my way over there today to check it out.  Um…yeah.

monica Outlander the designer behind Miamai is extremely gifted.  She has a wide…and I mean wide range of variety in her designs. Everything from wedding dresses to bathing suits. Oh, and mens stuff too! Weeeeee!!

Oooo, new Gina skin out at the Dressing Room, today I think.  Yep, just checked the feeds…out today so you can go buy it and be all sorts of gorgeousness.

Tuli does some of my fave makeup in SL. The colors are vivid without screaming DRAG QUEEN…which you know, there is nothing wrong with that..but sometimes I just want a lot of smokey subtle color. Also, I have a serious thing about lips…they are what I notice first and Tuli never disappoints. They are always luscious…muah!

The tunic I am wearing has been in my inventory for a long time but it is something that I always pull out over and over again.  I would adore to wear in my physical life, it is just a lot of fun to wear. I am actually also wearing adorable shoes but…sadly you cannot see them. Trust me though…adorables.

Sweetest Goodbye is one of those stores that I love everything from it enough for it to be worth having to spend a bit of time working out the prims to fit correctly. I won’t fib and say this top was easy for me to fit, but it was worth it.  It comes with two different bra options…one a bit more sultry and one that is a tad bit girl next door. Pending the girl who lives next door to you walks around wearing very revealing shirts. Hey, you never know!

The skirt is from Leezu and the one I am showing doesn’t have the belt but they come in a four pack with the options of no belt,  brown belt, white or beige. I am really really picky about denim skirts because the prim piece in the front can make me insane if it doesn’t blend well. I am pretty happy with these…very good blendage.  Is that a word? Okay it is now. Oh and while they come in a four pack…very reasonably priced.

I was sitting at work yesterday…minding my own business..getting through the day when I received an email alert from SL that made me very happy. What did it say? It saidddd that Dutch Touch just released a new skin.  EEEEEeee!!! I know, right? !!! I could not wait to log in to check it out. It was love…XAYA …you sweet little skin you. I love you every bit of you and let me list some of the reasons; four options of skin tones  (cream, caramel, olive and cocoa)  because each pack comes with an option of freckles, hair, base,  eyelashes and ten glorious makeups, PLUS 4 exclusive specially priced skins for VIP  members , and even more options! Well..you are perfect. No seams.  Your sweet button nose, the new lips that are delicious and full…the …yeah. I love it.  Iki scored another huge win with this one. Huge.

I won’t go through all the makeups but below are some of my faves. Okay that isn’t true, I love all of them..below are the four I had enough patience to take pictures of while SL kept crashing on me. Don’t pay attention to the sizes of the images…pretend they are all perfectly the same size and well…yeah, just focus on the gorgeousness of XAYA. <3

The makeup is pure fun…coral pinks, yellows and just perfect for summer.  Tuli is an artist…her skins are always beautiful and whenever she releases an exclusive skin…your best bet is to make sure to get to it before it’s gone!

The tropical looking makeup of Tuli’s new skin reminded me that I have something all sorts of summery and full of awesome to share with you guys….

NOTsoBAD released a new ASPEN Outdoor Set and it is seriously so wellll made and full of what? OPTIONS!
You buy one set and get 14 colors in 1! Huzzah!There are 4 single poses each for male/female. Along with this new set, they also recently released a very cool kitchen set, bathroom set and a few other amazing sets that you MUST GO SEE. Seriously, my NOTsoBAD folder is bursting at the seams, can you say addiction?

Oh, like my outfit? It isn’t new but one of the things I grab the most to wear out of my inventory…Nadia Gypsy Dress Set in Silver White by Nicky Ree.  Nicky is a phenomenal designer with quite the eye for detail…you can never go wrong when you shop at her store.

I love bright colors…the brighter, the bolder- the better. Plum is one of my faves, especially in lingerie. Now, let me just say that I rarely wear lingerie in SL because…well, there is no one to see me in it. Don’t feel sorry for me, I do have a lingerie audience in that other life I lead.

This lovely set is from Phoenix Rising and it is so lush and rich looking. Ashoka really does an awesome job with lingerie…when she dropped it on me she mentioned that since this is SL, I can wear it anywhere. So true. Now if I only I had the nerve to do so. <3 I am being a bit of a tease though, because it is not available quite yet..but be patient..it will be worth it.

The gorgeous skin I am wearing is the Gina 02 skin from Tuli that is a Dressing Room exclusive! Last time it was Gina01, which was in for two weeks. I think this one is up now…go take a look and pick up the newness.

Jewelry? Well…Zaara of course. Did you take advantage of her 50% of sale? I hope so…I know I did.

Starley Thereian had been looking for some volunteers to test drive a new skin she’s working on and provide constructive criticism. She receieved over 100 applications, and over at her blog she writes:

I’m really impressed with the level of critique and information people included in their applications. Not just what skins they wear, but why they wear them, when they wear them, and how they make them feel!

This was incredibly insightful and interesting to read. The applications themselves have been a HUGE HUGE help and all information provided will be taken into consideration.

I’m not surprised by this — skins are extremely personal (custom hoohah anyone?) and very important to how your avatar looks — wild makeup, no makeup, haute, casual — and the body shading: killer abs, lots o’ cleavage, tight buns, photorealistic or hand drawn, or both. All of these appearance items intersect and come from your skin choice.

So here’s what I’d like to talk about in the comments: What’s your absolute number one skin in Second Life, and why do you like it so much? If you can’t pick just one skin, talk about what skin you wear and why.
