Laynie’s Weekly Wrap – February 17, 2008

CnCJohnnyFront.jpgHi there! This week has been crazy, but Teagan has picked up the slack for me. (I really am a slacker!) She kicked off the week with a knotted updo from Biedermann’s Quality Hair called Martazul. This messy style has fringed pieces spilling out, and cute bangs. Definitely not one to miss if you like messy ponies!

Male Monday I got to show off my sessy new male avatar! Of course, the Johnny style (pictured) from Crimson and Clover has NOTHING to do with his attractiveness… ;) Ok, I’m so wrong there. Johnny is a man’s style, pure and simple, and it is the hotness. The tousled hair on top is combed to a neat DA in the back. Mmmm, throw on a leather jacket, and I’m THERE!

Tuesday, Teagan showcased Hairband Hair from Junwave. Can we say rock and roll? I think we can. *grin* This high-volume style has a white fabric headband that separates the top hair from the bottom, giving the illusion of layers. So fabulous!

innovationsanita2.jpgWednesday’s style was Anita (pictured) – a sleek and elegant updo from DG Innovations. This style is a bundle of curls that sits just below the crown. Stray curls spill out from the right side, softening the style.

Thursday, Teagan broke from the pack, showing something that wasn’t pink or red! (Good thing it wasn’t me, I’m ALWAYS in red hair!) Sirena’s Seduction is a versatile hairstyle, including two styles in one! With the hairpins, it’s a nicely knotted updo with the cutest hair sticks. Touch the hairsticks, and you (or a friend) have the option of taking the hair down into a smooth straight style. So much fun!

Friday was Thalia from Diversity. The Thalia Style is a long, French braid that falls down past the small of the back. The hair is pulled back from the from with the braid beginning just below the crown. It’s a fantastic braid!

Saturday Teagan spiced things up with Taunt’s Slyboots. This long straight style is parted down the middle with ends that curl under slightly. It’s simple enough to wear with jeans and a sweater, or you can spice it up like Teagan did with a specialty skin and silks!

DKUhuraFront.jpgToday, I finished off the week with an edgy style from Deviant Kitties. Uruha is a choppy messy style with asymmetrical bangs and more than a touch of attitude. I *love* it!

*EDIT* Ok, I totally misread the name of Uruha. I blame the dyslexia. It’s got nothing to do with Star Trek. REALLY!

So that’s the roundup for this week! Check back next week for guy hair, cute hair, and even some steampunk hair!

orchiddreamschai1.jpgIt’s been another busy week at Savoir Hair. Teagan and I have been up to our ears in getting the new shop ready, but don’t think that stopped us from searching out hair. Trust me, when it’s 3am and you’re screaming over prim drift, hair shopping is a nice diversion!

We kicked off the week with the Good Life’s Luffer on Male Monday. I like this look (even if my pictures were rather horrid. What was I thinking??). It’s a great casual style for guys or girls, with choppy bangs that fall over the left eye. Guys? You could do worse than wear this hair. :D

Tuesday Teagan floored me with Chai from Orchid Dreams (pictured). This Geisha-inspired updo is absolutely breathtaking, with scripted color-change flowers to match any outfit. I’m not sure where I’d wear it, but I definitely need this one in red!

Wednesday we got to see Tasty from Gurl 6. This sassy updo has a very retro feel to it. I find myself wanting to put on gogo boots and dance the night away!

Thursday’s style was a long elegant ponytail from Calla called Pansy. Calla’s easy elegance shows clearly here, with a high pony that falls to end in razorcut edges. Soft, feminine- that’s Calla!

philoticenergyholly1.jpgAnd once again, Teagan beat me to the punch, blogging Philotic Energy’s Holly (pictured). Seriously, between the wild pigtails and the goggles, what is there not to love? If I’m not careful, I’m going to end up with an inventory exploding with PE hair! (Ahh, who am I kidding. I’m loving it!)

Saturday we got to see another pony, this one the long and sleek Gillian from Cassini Creations. This pony is held in place high on the head with a tight bun. This also is one of the first hairstyles released that is scripted- you can adjust both the overall size, but also the size and placement of individual prims! I think this is a great move on the hair designers’ parts.

We rounded off the week with Martazul by Biedermann’s Quality Hair. The Matazul style comes with 2 version, short fringe(shown) and long fringe. This style is a knotted updo with the hair knotted loosely along the back with fringed pieces spilling out all over. Several longer pieces are falling out of the knots over the shoulders. It’s funky and elegant, and such a gorgeous color! ;)

So, that’s our week! I hope yours was good, and productive. I also hope to see you back here next week!

MagikaGeishaFront.jpgWow, what a week!! Between amazing hair releases and FashCon’s Freeday, I’m BUSHED! :D I’ll be sorting til next week, easy!

I kicked the week off with Magika’s Geisha (pictured). This style knocked my socks off, being a modern interpretation of Geisha style. The choppy, shaggy bangs, the low bun, the hair sticks… it all makes me a VERY happy girl!

Sunday, Teagan showed us Decohime by Deja Vu. This style is is a full and loose low ponytail that falls over the left shoulder. The little tiara with hair sticking out the top is absolutely adorable. This would be such a great style for role playing, dressing up… it’s too fun!

panachedrakk1.jpgMale Monday we got to see Drakk by Panache (pictured). Long long, sexy style reaches almost to the thighs with thick layers. It also comes in dreads texture, making it a versatile choice. Guys? This one’s hot.

Tuesday I showed a nice, low-key hairstyle from Hair Solutions called Rafaela. I got this hair to review an embarrasingly long time ago- and I am SO sorry it took so long to put on! Once I did, I realized what a mistake I’d made by waiting so long! The thick braids are gathered in a loose ponytail at the nape of the neck, falling in a loose ponytail.

Wednesday we saw Crystal by Hair by Cher. This short sassy style has just enough polish to go from board room to ballroom! It’s got volume, and enough sleek attitude to knock everyone around you off their feet!

Thursday’s style was Style 5 by Wrong. These piggies rest just below the ears, with long parted bangs held in place by a barrette. So cute… especially if you’re like me, and wear your hair like this in RL!

bewitchedteagan1.jpgTeagan closed out the week with an amazing style by Bewitched called, oddly enough, Teagan (pictured)! (I wonder where Sheltered Heart got that idea… ) This hair is edgy, with long waves and tiny loose strands. It obviously suits Teagan well!

So that’s our week! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Next week we’ve got some great stuff to show, including hair from Freeday! (If I can ever find it again…)

Laynie’s Weekly Wrap – January 12, 2008

hairbychercynthia1.jpgWow. January. Still. *laughs* Who knew? This time thing just keeps on going, and we keep finding new hair! Seriously, my wallet is glaring at me, but my hair folder loves me.

Wednesday, I kicked things off with a favorite shop of mine, Poinsettia II by Calla. This style is a messy updo with curls and a cute little ponytail falling down. I swear, if I could get my hair to do this in real life, I’d be dancing!

Friday, Teagan modeled a gorgeous style by Hair by Cher called Cynthia (pictured). A long, layered, straight style that falls just past the small of the back with long bangs, this style is casual and elegant at the same time. It’s great for jeans and a sweater, and holding hands with the one you love.

Saturday we got to see Glitz from Gurl 6. Short, straight, and shaggy, this style is cuteness with an edge. Six Kennedy can always be counted on to provide great hair, and this is no exception.

truthsunday1.jpgSunday Teagan knocked my socks off with an asymmetrical style from Truth, appropriately named Sunday (pictured). Sleek and sexy, this medium length bob falls just past the neckline at the back and level with the shoulders at the front.

Monday was a return to the regularly scheduled Male Monday, and we got to see Dani by Hair Solutions. This style is great for casual guys, with a short, straight layers and a clean neckline. It’s hard to find good guy hair, and this looks like great stuff. Check it out!

smokafront.jpgTuesday we wrapped things up with a find from one of the Japanese sims. Smoka’s Shorthair (pictured) is one of only two styles I found at this shop, but they’re both exceptionally well done. The glossy texture wooed me, and I love the way the cut slopes from back to front. Delish!

So that’s our week! I hope you enjoyed it… we’ve got some fun things lined up for next week!

Laynie’s Weekly Wrap – Wednesday, January 2

electrokittyminini1.jpgHappy new year everyone! I hope the holiday was a good one. I’ve been resting up from the whirlwind of holiday gatherings… and somehow, I missed Wednesday! That’s ok, though… I’ve still got the goods for last week.

Thursday, Teagan showed us Mirada’s Bobby Lee. This style is a long, braided style with two braids falling low down the back from behind each ear to the small of the back. It’s sleek and simple, and definitely well done. Friday was all about the cute casualness, with an adorable style from Gurl 6 – Jinglebelle. This long wavy style comes with a warm, tintable hat. So cute!

Saturday’s style was a wild neko look from Electro Kitty. Kimini (pictured) is a choppy, multi-length cut that can be worn by either sex. Where did I put my neko ears…

wiltedrosegia1.jpgSunday Teagan showed Gia (pictured) from Wilted Rose, a cute pair of bunnytails (half bun, half ponytail) that sit above the ear on either side. For some reason, this style makes me want summer at the beach!

Monday, I wanted to cut loose and show my diva fabulosity. I overpowered Teagan (don’t listen to her, she did just fine in the closet. It was like a little dark vacation!) Male Monday? Hah! This was MARVELOUS Monday! I must say, I think I looked amazing in Zsazsa’s Timeless Updo Wig from ZsaZsa’s House Of Beauty. This outrageous updo with giant curls made me a little crazy for the day. I’m sorry, Teagan… really… you can come out of the closet now!

Tuesday, I was somewhat calmer, and showed off Lydia from Bossa Nova. This soft, elegant braid has bangs straight across the eyes, and soft wisps escaping from the braid. It curls around over your right shoulder.

polishededenfront.jpgFinally, on Wednesday I wore Eden (pictured) by Polished. This elegant updo is ideal for everything from jeans to gowns. We also celebrated Savoir Hair’s first anniversary! Teagan put up great photo retrospectives of us through the year.

Thanks for being with us, and helping us make Savoir Hair’s first year a fabulous success! We ave so much fun planned for the coming year. Be sure to stick around to see what we show next!

Laynie’s Weekly Wrap – Wednesday, December 26

surfshackgeorgie.jpgHappy Boxing Day, fellow fashionistas! I hope the jolly fat man was good to you all, and you’re having a healthy, happy holiday. Aside from my egg nog-induced posting yesterday, I think it’s been a fabulous week at Savoir Hair.

Teagan started the week out with Sirena’s Mimi. If you’re looking for fantastic Neko hair (or even indulging your inner rock star) then Mimi is for you. Messy and razor cut, this style comes with separate bangs, depending on whether you want to make eye contact with those around you. I so want to put on my leather pants and start a rock band!

Next up was Georgie by Sand Shack Surf Co (pictured). This hand-drawn style gives a nod to Diana Ross’s wild curls. It is seriously cool hair, but definitely not for the shy or quiet! I wonder if Teagan is feeling the urge to get on stage, considering the rockin’ styles she’s shown this week!

Things mellowed out by the weekend. Saturday’s style was Madison, by Goldie Locks. Long and sleek, Madison is elegant and sedate. The bangs are pulled back high on the head, leaving you with a clean hairline.

philoticenergyboyd1.jpgSunday brought us another long style, this time Nabihah from Hair Solutions. These hand drawn waves are simple, with ends that flip up sweetly at the bottom.

Male Monday showcased Philotic Energy’s Boyd (pictured). This casual style is nicely shaggy, with a handsome knit cap. At only $5 lindens, how can you go wrong? Maybe it won’t work for a formal affair, but for anything else it’s perfect!

On Tuesday , Teagan showed a beautiful period style called Duchess from Curl Up and Dye. That shop has clearly been reading up on fashion history, because this elaborate style demonstrates how 18th century French aristocrats went over the top to outdo one another- by including a birdcage (complete with songbird) in the style! What’s next, an epic sea battle, complete with ships and sails?

Oh. About Tuesday? It’s true… Teagan cut me off. No more posting after I’ve been hitting the egg nog. But seriously, who hasn’t wanted to wear a Christmas tree on their head in SL?

*waits*

*hears crickets*

Oh. Moving on…

callachestnut1.jpgFinally, we got to see Calla’s Chestnut Tree (pictured). This stylish twist puts a new spin on things, twisting outward rather than in. Its soft bangs and ponytail make me want to throw on a sweater and go for a walk outside!

Tune in next week, and see what we’ve got planned. Will I hit the leftover rum balls? Who knows… I’ve got a whole INVENTORY I can wear on my head! :D

Laynie’s Weekly Wrap – December 13, 2007

pudgecrystal1.jpgIt’s been another great week at Savoir Hair. Teagan kicked the week off by showing us Breathe from theAbyss, a cute medium length straight style with a flip at the ends. This chic style is perfect for those holiday parties going on right now…

Friday, we got to see Pudge’s the Crystal (pictured). This unique style has a painterly effect to it, and is a fresh look at prim hair. The hand drawn feel would be well matched with hand-drawn clothes and skin. It’s fun to find a new take on hair.

RaCPrissFront.jpgSaturday we got to see Uptown by Pazazz. This is a treat, because it’s one of the transitions styles, meaning you get two looks for the price of one! In its down state, Uptown is a long style with soft curls. In its up state, it is a long, full style with soft bangs and a hairband.

Sunday I got to show off RaC’s Priss (pictured). This long, lush style shows off what RaC does best – amazing hair textures. The prim hairband is a nice touch.

sirenadante1.jpgMale Monday showcased Sirena’s Dante style (pictured). It’s a long, stick-straight style that brings out your inner rockstar.

Tuesday Teagan showed the elegant Snow Queen/Sugar Plum Fairy from Spirit. This sleek, clean bun is sure to make your inner princess feel loved.

Wednesday, we wrapped up with Jessica from Groovygirl Designs. This medium length style with flipped ends is messy in the nicest way, and calling my name. I think I need to go hair shopping now! See you next week!

zerostyletsubura1.jpgHi!! It feels like a million years since I’ve written, but I’m back. Did you miss me? (Don’t answer that! *laughs*) But now that I’m no longer hooked up to tubes and machines that go beep in the middle of the night, I’ve got a wrap-up of last week’s hair!

On Thursday, Teagan showed everyone an adorable style by Gurl 6 called November. It was a limited edition hair only available through the end of November, so I hope you got it while it was there! It was long, with rumpled bangs and a cute headband.

Then, we got to see a great style by Zero Style called Tsubura (pictured). These pigtails are too cute to be believed, with braids wrapped around the base of each pigtail. This style would be great for kicking around in casual clothes, or paired with something a bit dressier as Teagan showed it.

analoglola1.jpgSaturday, Teagan showcased a long style from Analog Dog called Lola. As usual, this style showcases what Analog Dog does best – amazing, silky textures that make me want to bury my hands in the hair and pet it like a puppy! Lola doesn’t disappoint, and this long style showcases the textures beautifully.

Sunday’s style was an elegant updo from Marlys called Anessa’s Valor. This sleek, smooth style calls to mind more innocent days, sock hops and poodle skirts. The simple lines are sure to flatter you.

philoticenergyindy1.jpgTeagan and I have been lamenting the lack of good guy hair to blog, so she decided to make Mondays “Male Mondays.” This gives us a reason to get off our tushies and find great guy hair! Philotic Energy fits the bill with the Indy style. The choppy cut looks sleek and sexy on guys. (Don’t tell anyone, but I bet it’d look great on girls too!)

Finally, the week wrapped up with Shannon 2 from Biedermann’s Quality Hair. This one’s a little on the wild side, with two braids that are tied off around the shoulder blade, before falling down the rest of the way like ponytails. Long braids frame the face, and tie the look together nicely.

It’s been a great week, and I can’t wait to see what we find for next week. Happy holidays!

callafennelback.jpgOops- shame on me! I got so caught up in hair that I didn’t realize Wednesday had passed me by! No cookie for me… but moving on…

I’ve had problems picking which pics to show for this week, they’re all so good! You’ll have to pop over to Savoir Hair and see for yourself. But I’ve picked a few highlights to share. The week started with me revisiting Calla’s Fennel style. I love flowers in my hair, so I couldn’t resist showing this one. Teagan then showed Aden’s Ginger Spice. This semi-up do is reminiscent of the Spice Girls of old, with soft bangs falling over the left eye, and a teased-high crown. The back falls just below the shoulders with a bit of flip. So great if you’re wanting to dress up as Ginger Spice!

deviantkittiesmusic1.jpgThere was a total change of pace when Teagan showed us Deviant Kitty’s Music Panda. How adorable is this? My kitty hat is hiding under the couch, because it feels so inadequate! The hat itself is cute as heck, with baseball stitching and the cutest little panda face. Add in the wilder hair spilling out the top, and you’ve got one great style there!

Then Teagan showed us something totally different again, with Jolie Femme’s Destiny. The soft straight style falls to the small of the back, with flipped up ends. It’s a wonderful casual style, perfect for wandering through the park and enjoying the fall leaves.

analogtamra1.jpgAnalog Dog’s Tamara is so innovative. The textures are breathtaking. The long tight curls fall just past the shoulder line, and the front is pulled back and knotted at the back of the head. *sigh* I can hear my lindens running to Analog Dog as I type this.

On Monday, we got something special… we added a Flickr Photostream to Savoir Hair! So join and get your photos up, we want to see YOU!

Truth’s Amy Jane is a short, sweet style with soft layers and swoopy bangs. Finally, we ended the week with Atomic Kitty’s Kat Funky. These long, low ponies have serious attitude, and work well for nekos and everyone else who wants to add a bit of funk to their style!

It’s been quite a week at Savoir Hair, and we’ve got some pretties stashed away to show you next week. So come by, join our photostream, and show us what you’ve got!

pixeldollsmelora1.jpgMy goodness, we’ve had a good week at Savoir Hair! Braids, long styles, short styles… even one that has both long and short for one price! The week started with a great long style by Damselfly called Lonestar. It’s a big style, for those of you who love big curly hair. The front is pulled back into a clip, and the back falls to your waist. Then Teagan showed us Melora from Pixeldolls. So lovely, but if you don’t like screen clutter be aware that it comes with a HUD. But if you don’t mind the HUD, I’d definitely recommend this one!

bewitchedpetra1.jpgNext came a messy ponytail from Pazazz – Revival. This ponytail is fun and sexy, with great bangs that swoops down over the left eye. What more can you ask? Teagan came through again with Bewitched’s Petra, a relatively short knotted braid that falls over the left shoulder. It even comes with Egyptian attachments with bling options! (Ok, I have to admit, I am seriously in love with hair accessories!) Then I got to show off Shanie from Pixelthreads. This clever style starts with a system base, then gives prim attachments for both a short style and a long style! There’s nothing like hair that gives you options.

theabyssoxygen1.jpgOn Tuesday, Teagan showed us the style everyone’s been talking about. Oxygen from the Abyss is an adorable flip with long bangs. Finally, we got to see guest model Cherlindrea Lamont (from Fabuously Free in SL) modeling Diversity’s Sarah. This long braid hangs over the right shoulder, and has soft bangs that fall past your eyebrows.

We’ve had fun this week, but we’ve got some great stuff to show you in the next week. Be sure to check in and see the goodies!

Laynie’s Weekly Wrap – Oct 31, 2007

hiccupboobs1.jpgThis has been a GREAT week for hair! First, I got to check out a new-to-me hair shop called LaLa Moon. Sweet owner, and sweet hair! It was a fantastic way for me to start things off. Then Teagan found hair that was just made for me- Hiccup’s Ghost Boobs!

If you love short hair, this is too delicious to pass up. Since I do a lot of ads, this hair is ideal, because it doesn’t hide the back of outfits! I think I’ve got a new go-to hair…

DiversityCobainFront.jpgThen I popped over to Diversity for their sale. That Cobain style everyone’s been wondering where it is? It’s back, and retextured so it’s even better than before.

ArtilleriDaynaV2Front.jpg

Teagan shared a gorgeous dollarbie (Gwenyth) from Tickled Pink, and our guest model showed off Gurl 6’s Lila. We wrapped up the week with Artilleri’s Dayna V2. This retro look is adorable, and versatile too. I think I may have found yet another new favorite!

We’ve got some great hair to show you this coming week. Be sure to stop by Savoir Hair and say hi!
