Shockingly (kind of like the color itself), this week’s color challenge assignment wasn’t so bad.

For whatever reason, when I slapped on these snappy bottoms from Emery (Love Emery, don’t you?) they made me want to shout with the rest of my ‘do, too.  Cue the spiked bracelet, ear plugs (Nox. rocks, BTW), black nail polish, and pointy shoes.  Stepping out of your comfort zone is just grand, sometimes.  Here’s to doing it a bit more often.

Before I sign off, a quick reminder:  Mon Tissu’s Anouk and Elie dropped a few gifts into the ‘Mon Tissu Soiree’ group notices.  Pop online to snag ‘em up– and for goodness sake, join the group if you haven’t already.  You can become an official member while you browse the latest and greatest at the store’s lovely Lula location.

There has been a wonderful groundswell among creators to put together a fundraiser, donating 100% of the proceeds to the NEW ZEALAND RED CROSS to aid victims of last Tuesdays 6.3 magnitude earthquake.

Many of my favorite creators are there and it’s heartwarming to see so many people coming together to help. Jori Watler donated the space on Copley Square to the effort and you can find just TONS of easels set up, all the vendors donating money for items your pixel person will love.

The company I work for has offices in Christchurch itself, and we are blessed that our team members sustained only minor injuries to no injuries at all. Our facility was damaged as were our goods inside. We’ll replace the stuff. We could never replace the people.

We consider ourself one large global family, so I just went and did what you do when your family needs help –  I went and gave what I could. I can’t be there to deliver aid. But I can give the Red Cross some money to do it for me.

I love the Jersey Shore. I don’t mean the show, because I have only watched maybe one whole episode and it was horrible. I mean the actual Jersey Shore. Growing up, we lived over three hours away from the shore so it was a huge  and I mean HUGE treat to go to the boardwalk. We would spend hours playing in the water, running to the boardwalk only to get ice cream and then right back to the water.  We barely cared about the games when we were very young, it was alll about playing in the ocean. Trust me, that changed once I discovered boys. By that time though, I had moved to Southern California and the ocean was much…much closer to home.

Anyway, this blog isn’t about the Jersey Shore and especially not about my history with boys.  Mon tissu had a huge release last night and all the pieces are fantastic. My favorite out of everything is this blazer, it fits so so well and if you read my blog you know I am utterly impatient when it comes to fitting most things. So huge plus for me that the Rockaby Blazer is super easy to fit, thus in my eyes making it pretty damn near perfect.  I paired it with my favorite jeans of all time, the mon tissu Lou Lou denims jeans that if you don’t own them..it makes me sad for you.  Oh and So Many Styles just released this freaking adorable belted sweater that is a MUST. A total must. The pack includes belts in different colors and I loved how cute the yellow one went with my Moxie sandals. Sandals with socks? Only sexy in Second Life.

Last thing…the Pout skin from Curio. Please, please tell me you bought this skin. Gorgeous does not even begin to describe it. Each time I put it on, I want to kiss myself. Don’t judge.

Dutch Touch released a new skin this week, Sterre, and she is gorgeous. Yes, I am totally biased when it comes to Dutch Touch because of my serious love affair with Iki’s skins but really…trust me, gorgeous. Sterre is a VIP Exclusive, priced at 550L for a pack that includes dark and light brows, cleavage, hairbase,  freckle layer, eyelashes and five lipstick options. There are four skin tones to pick from; cream, caramel, olive and fudge. There is a 250L price tag to join the group but it is so so worth it. Iki always has great discounts on certain skins for her VIP members, so it is def worth it.  The only thing I want to know is…when can we expect to see more of the beautiful and flawless, Sterre?

I am wearing the Tux Dress from Doppelganger and loving it. Doppelganger is a store that has been catching my attention a lot lately because of the great pieces, awesome prices and the stuff is really cute. Win. Win. Win. All win. Go check them out!

Unless you’ve been caught under a snow drift or rock, you’re probably well aware that the most talked about event on the grid this week is the skin fair.

I’m told that fighting the big bad lag monster is well worth it– not just for demos of the latest and greatest in pixillated skin, but for the variety of gifts you’ll find nestled in the booths.

I haven’t gotten brave enough to head over myself (lame, right?), mostly because I’ve spent my sparse online time this week nabbing some of the new items at Maitreya, Elikatira, and Emery.  More on those purchases coming soon.

Week sixteen of the color challenge asked us to blog teal– certainly not the most difficult color Luna Jubilee has assigned yet.  Next week, though, we have to present on electric lime.  Oy.

The Omega, the BIG O in ancient Greek, is the name of this dress from Sn@tch. The Omega is the end. The ultimate. It’s the completion of a cycle and signifies that something new will come. It’s been used throughout history to signify  insignificance but that seems in error. Because as the Alpha is a beginning the the Omega is what cannot be escaped. The Omega meets everyone. Vanity Universe Skin Fair is back!  Gates open on Sunday Feb. 20th @ 3pm slt. Blogger Day is Feb. 19, so get ready! Below is a picture of the layout and let me tell you, it is so easy to navigate! They did a stellar job setting it up.

I was so excited to be invited to enter the sim yesterday but I was in skin happy overload and didn’t even think to blog. I was just way too excited.  Who could blame me? So many amazing designers, bringing some of their very best work that has already been released and even more exciting…skins that are making their first debut to the grid during the skin fair.  Just epic.

I will be blogging the fair a few times, but let me start my very first skin fair blog with four beautiful new skins.

I cannot even figure out which one is my favorite.  They are all so beautiful in so many different ways. The Glam Affair, Mary, is simply divine. The body is to die for…the face – flawless. Simply flawless. Iren’s May is a fun and pretty skin. There are several options in the pack ranging from freckles to lipgloss. Very cute. Lara  Hurley turned it out with this skin fair release, Ava. Love it. So soft and pretty, just like what we have come to expect from this brand. Mynerva’s Kianna has the most adorable face and you can pick from different eye makeup options. Subtle but beautiful.

Beautiful, beautiful work. Not to be missed.

Growing up in a large city and in a big family (7 siblings) you have to find a place to be alone. It is nearly impossible, because nothing…nothing is sacred. One place I was always able to find a bit of peace was on one of the fire escapes. I would crawl out there with my books and get lost for hours. Heaven.

I am all grown up now but I still love fire escapes. Whenever I go home to visit and it is summer time, I always end up out there at one point or another during the evening to listen to the sounds of the city and usually have a glass of wine. Still heaven.

You know what is also heavenly? Wearing something you love, that makes you not just look pretty but feel pretty.

Ohhh…guess what time it is again? Time for another round of CHIC Limited! Well okay, almost time. The event starts on Feb. 12 and runs through Feb. 26th. Plenty of time to go check out original content from some amazing designers. There are so many beautiful things that last night I blogged a few other things on my personal blog, Sacred Fashion, and chances are I will blog more pretties from the event over there at some point today or tomorrow.

First up is the Magoa peepshow shirt that comes in three different colors with different color bows…and is honestly a steal of a price. So so adorable. Especially with my Mon Tissu Lou Lou jeans that I am getting teased about because of my obsession with them. I can’t help it! They are pure awesome. The chair, dog bed and side table are Cheeky Pea’s contribution to the event and they are very aptly named…Doris’ Night in. Oh, I should explain…the theme of the event is Anti Valentine. So, maybe Doris was stuck home on Valentine’s Day? Bummer but the set is awesome with different sits and choice of texture for the chair.

I am so picky about long skirts. Very picky. Bounce nails it with this release for CHIC Limited. Very cute. Very flowy. Very right. The tank top has such a cute design to it, I really like how it isn’t your typical undershirt…but the bolero…the bolero makes me happy. It is so well made. Everything from the cuffs, to the buttons to how well it is made. Perfect. Total score for Bounce.
