I have a confession to make. It is after 1pm in the afternoon and I have done nothing today. I am sitting on the couch, curled up with the pugs, watching Lifetime while wearing a huge sweatshirt with the hood up because I am cold. I rarely get a chance to be lazy so it is just like heaven. Wait, I did blog though (and showered, promise)…lemme show you.

Let me start from the bottom up…the boots. I saw Felicity wearing them and sadly she would not let me rip them off her feet…I thought best friends were supposed to share? Selfish. Sooo…I tped over to J’s and bought a pair of my very own. The socks are color change and verrrry cute. Perfect for winter. I guess I can understand why she wanted to keep hers.

Second Style Island, and previously known as Le Zoo has had a terrific 4 years! Our rebuild took place a year ago already, and we’ve enjoyed all of our renters, and customers alike.
However, HeatherDawn Cohen’s RL business is starting to take off, and she cannot juggle everything! So, we’ve decided to put the sim up for sale. The magazine however, and blog will not be affected at all by this transition, and we are looking forward to many more issues!
If you, or anyone you know are interested in purchasing a Full Sim, please contact heatherdawncohen@gmail.com. We would like to get the sale completed quickly, and are considering all offers.

Another combo post– this time a quick one.
Just wanted to share my ‘silver’ submission for Luna Jubilee’s color challenge and extend my best as you begin putting together your New Year’s plans (and outfits).
My NYE recs. for your avatar’s garb are as follows: Tres Blah for some evening-appropriate makeup and nails; Mon Tissu for a healthy dash of feminine; Tee*fy and Villena for a touch of whimsical; Luc for the jewelry that everyone will be talking about all night; and Maitreya for the statement pieces you’ll build your whole ensemble from.
Here’s to closing out the decade with a bang in both lives!

Ivalde. Just the name brings to mind classic garments, done with much love and an eye for detail. Neferia Abel is a genius that dances between fashion eras and does so with much grace. Nef is a true Second Life fashion icon.

Her latest release, the Noela coat is perfect for this time of year. I adore the wide fur lined bottom and am a big fan of the collar. Very pretty. I paired it with the Maitreya Moxie shoes which I wear very very often and seriously, only in SL can sandals with socks be sexy. And they are. Very.

I am going to take this opportunity to wish you and yours the very happiest of holidays. I hope all of you reading these words feel as loved, cherished and blessed as I do.
Merry Christmas from my home to yours.

I’m meshing my color challenge posts this week because (1) I’m late getting cerise up, and (2) I want to squeeze in a New Year’s post before 2010 is history.
I didn’t actually combine cerise and green in one ensemble, but I think you could interchange the pieces in all three of these looks in some inventive and fun ways without much clashing. I made sure to include lots of bows, stripes, ribbons, and sparkle– consider it my remix on the traditional Christmas post!
I popped over to *BOOM* this week and nabbed a few of the things shown here, including the sweater vest and holiday tee. The holiday tees are a steal– 50 L for three colors (with two lengths apiece), and you can choose from two different sets. Aranel Ah has some better shots of the tops on her Flickr page, if you want to take a gander before heading over. I don’t care who you are or where you come from– we all love a good cheapie holiday tee.
I’m still working bits of Mon Tissu’s new collection into my looks, too. This week I’ve got a bit more of the So Boho Blouse for you to see, and the green skirt from one of the adorable party dresses the girls made. Loved the way it looked with my new Audrey updo from Exile.
My final visit this week was to Maitreya. I wear Onyx’s hair pretty often, but I’m sometimes guilty of dashing off before I have a chance to browse the racks of clothes. I nabbed the Viento skirt and a tank you’ll see in my next post. The skirt comes in some adorable color combinations– there’s really something for everyone.
Best wishes to everyone celebrating Christmas at the end of the week. Here’s hoping Santa brings you something good!

Mimikri is a store that I have loved for years. I blog most of the new releases and each time I say….omg this is my favorite, EVER! Until the next release. Her latest release Frou Frou is….pretty freaking awesome. The name sums it up….it is girly, feminine and so well made.

I finished alll my Christmas shopping today so I am exhausted and off to bed.

Come here…I have something to tell you. Closer. Come on now…don’t be shy.
The Secret Store…have you been there? If not, how come? Do you not like well made and very cute clothes at extremely affordable prices? I hope your answer is yes. Visit The Secret Store. Totally worth it.
This new skin from Glam Affair…is just gorgeous. I know it is all over the feeds but seriously, if you do not have it…go demo it. It is beautiful work. The skirt I have on is from DeLas and tbh, I have no idea how old it is because I bought it on Marketplace. I typed in brown skirt and viola! There it was. So. Easy. Tesla boots and Maitreya finish off the look with just the right touch.

Unless you’ve been living under a pixillated rock, you’ve most likely already popped over to Lula and filled your arms with treasures from the latest gem on the grid, Mon Tissu.
If you haven’t…get your virtual tush over there this minute because, wow. Just wow.
Elie and Anouk Spot’s creations all share a few key ingredients: they’re delicate, feminine, incredibly intricate, and have a big scoop of vintage on the side. It’s the perfect combination of modern and classic which, in case you’ve been living under a RL rock too, is splashed across just about every magazine cover and nestled between the pages of most of the catalogues in your mailbox. This is clothing to invest in and to build your collection with– it’s not going to go out of style and the quality is the best you’re going to find anywhere.
I wove some Mon Tissu into this week’s color challenge and anticipate working it into outfits for weeks to come, too. Talk about fantastic pieces to mix and match with.
Alright, a few other things I want to note.
First, Julliette Westerburg has released her new Blessa skin. Invest in the fatpack– this one is worth it. Love the makeup options. Love the freckles. Just love.
Second, try to carve out some time to pop over to the Albero Winter Fair. Tee*fy has some not-so-basic flats (you’ve got options wear them plain, with dots, or with little ribbons!) and some fun scarves. With Christmas right around the corner, why not bring your besties there and let them pick out their gifts from you?
See you next for week seven’s color– cerise. (Google it. I had to).

Have you heard about the Winter Market???
If not – Second Style Island is hosting a special month long event. Tons of market stalls set up around the perimeter of our newly winterized park, each one with an allowance of 25 prims. All the items on the stalls will be 100L$ or less!!
Best of all, you don’t have to be a Second Style renter to participate in this event!
The fee to rent a stall at the Winter Market is just 500L$… yep, that is it, for one whole month!
If you would like more information about the event and fees please contact Felicity Blumenthal. (felicityblumenthal@yahoo.com)
New. New. New. Boots, skirts, sweaters, and skins. Oh yeah.

Unless you have been under a rock you have heard about the collaborative effort between Surf. Co’s Emma Gilmour and Tres Blah’s Julliette Westerburg, Mon Tissu. Epic. Awesome. I think I fat packed just about everything there. Who can blame a girl? The entire store was amazing!

All blog posts have a starting point, and this one was the absolutely gorgeous Assasin Boots from Lassitude and Ennui. I’ve realized since receiving them that I am in a terrible boot deficit and must correct this situation as soon as funds and time allows. Read the rest of this entry »
