This is Second Style’s 4th Anniversary issue. In a virtual world where a week is the equivalent of a month and where people come and go so quickly, 4 years is an impressive accomplishment. We’ve come a long way from that first issue, and have seen so many changes in the fashion world that is Second Life. The creative way that designers have pushed the seemingly limitless barriers of a virtual fashion world is what makes the pages and content of our magazine as amazing as it today.
Keeping up with a monthly publication, that has a staff of fewer than 20; in a sometimes quirky platform is a daunting task to say the least. The work starts before the previous issue has even been released, and continues on right up to the night before it hits the blog. Myself, HeatherDawn, and the entire staff put all of our efforts into giving you the very best images and ideas to look at, the most up to the moment fashion pieces, and the details on where you can purchase one of your very own!
This issue celebrates everything that makes up our virtual world, with the special addition of the much anticipated Stylies awards. The Stylies have been an annual tradition, where the public nominates their favorites, and then votes on a winner in each category. So be sure to check it out and see if your favorites have won!
We are also welcoming Fayne Khanr and Marc Gellner this issue. Marc will be putting his full attentions on giving the guys something to read! YAY for men’s fashion, we know you boys really get the short end of the stick, so to speak. So keep an eye out, he plans on giving you all shopping lists.
Fayne has taken over the Fresh Faces piece, which as many of you know was Ana Lutetia’s “baby” forever. We were so sad to see Ana go, as she has been a mainstay of Second Style Magazine, and one of the best people I know, in either world. But, she is off focusing on her real life, and we are happy to support her in all that she does. Fayne has taken on this project with much excitement, and is really looking forward to giving the piece some personal touches, which everyone will love.
Second Style Magazine hopes to be around for yet another 4 years, and to continue to improve, and change with the times. We thank you, all of our readers for your continued support, not only with the magazine, but also with the blog, and with the Second Style Island sim.
