Backless Wonder

Backless Wonder

Sometimes I hate my shape in SL.  It’s great for blogging, but I have a very tall avatar.  And when I’m hanging out with shorter avs, it’s hard not to feel like a giant.  It has always seemed peculiar to me that I’m most proportional around men in SL, yet most women have extremely short avs.  I was feeling tall and out of place the other day until I put on this new draped sweater and these amazing pants.  Then I felt as sexy as could be.  It’s amazing to me how some clothing items can be such high quality goods and fit SO well that they perfectly enhance the avatar shape.  And these pants do just that.

A Night Out!

0

All the packing and moving got me to thinking that I need a night out!  Nothing is better for the soul than loud music, girlfriends, and a great place to meet people.  With technology at my fingertips, I quickly asked my fellow plurkies, “Where is the best place to meet someone?”  Disregarding some of the naughty comments, the consensus came down to:  live music events or nude beaches.   Tonight was going to be a night to get all dressed up and pretty, so the nude beach was out (for now.)

Night out

I slipped into my MOREA STYLE dress,a birthday gift, and styled my hair up in TRUTH’s gorgeous wispy cut. It’s the gentle wisps that give it that sexy touch, as always. Sliding the leggings from KUSH all the way up (notice the word Sex on the back of one, the other side says Love…wonder what I’ll find tonight,) I finished the outfit with the new release from (MB.)  I’ll definitely be talking about these shoes more!!! Prairie Boho

Prairie Boho

I think it’s pretty obvious that my personal style is VERY feminine and tends to lean more toward cute than sexy.  But, hey… that’s just me.  And if I changed my fundamental style by vamping it up too much, I’d be trying too hard and neglecting my own unique sense of style.  Am I a style expert? Absolutely not.  But I know great clothes when I see them, and I love experimenting.  This look just sort of happened, and I had no idea what to call it, so I settled on “prairie boho.”  And I think it suits me perfectly.

The Obsession…

1

I know, it really is difficult to narrow it down to just one for me.  However, this week, it has been a relapse in shoe obsessions.  Maitreya Gold.  *sighs*

leg up copy

I can’t get enough. I plurked about it, whined to all my friends about it, went to the store a billion times (plus one,) and finally, finally got this pair. As soon as I slipped them on, I flung my ass on the gorgeous blue leather chaise from Diesel Works (available in an array of colors,) puffed my ciggy from Hermony, and *click* *click* *clicked* through poses!  ME + SHOES = HAPPY   For those of you who don’t know, let me just mention, these are the easiest shoes I’ve ever had the pleasure of matching skin to.  They come with presets to some of the most famous skin lines!  SERIOUSLY!  Read the rest of this entry »

Bread and Butter

Bread and Butter

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It was about time that I posted a casual look here, so I decided to do just that.  I rounded up a few new favorites and put them together for a fun, colorful, and relaxed look.  Then I ran over to butterdish to snap a few photos in this adorable rustic sim.  For some reason, this sim reminds me of homemade country bread and freshly churned butter.  Mmmmmm!

Date Night:Polo Match Anyone?

0

I love fun men’s shirts. And I don’t mean whimsical – I mean shirts that are nice and well made and  bring something different to the table when worn by girls.

Thus, I’ve twisted the arm of Shiryu Musashi of Musashi Do and obtained TWO shirts that are in his men’s line – but I wanted them for ME ME ME.  This first shirt is a proper club polo shirt and all you actually need to remember about club polo girls, is to avoid the steaming divots. (grins at everyone who gets that joke).

Both of the shirts I’m showing you today come with the Pop collar option – as I’m wearing with the first shirt – which signifies that I miss the 80s. (note to self, DUCK next time you see Shiryu)

The striped polo shirt I’m wearing has the regular collar option attached.  I’m over missing the 80s now.

Both shirts were featured at a fashion show I attended yesterday which showcased the formal and casual fashions of Musashi Do. I think that everyone pretty well KNOWS that the suits are extraodinary but the casual wear is also excellent. And even Gidge could edit the prim collar down, so again, that’s a win.

I’m wearing short shorts from SWA after a NIGHT of hunting for the perfect skirt - I realized I owned shorts that were a win. And I’m never taking off these Stiletto Moody Sky High Boots. Ever.

Ok, I might take them off eventually. But NOT TODAY!

Where To Get It?

  • Shirts – Musashi Do Flagship Store
  • Hair – Exile – Amelia in Ash
  • Skin – Baiastice – Donnarama – Casting – in Peach
  • Shorts – Second Wave Apparel
  • Boots – Stiletto Moody – Sky High Boots
  • bracelets – Fresh Baked Goods- Mah Jong Bracelets
  • Nails – PXL Creations – Black and White French

New Home!

2

Let’s face it, no one likes moving, even in a virtual world.  Pick up, pick up, pick up….make sure nothing was left behind, not to mention what your inventory looks like afterward.  However, the fun part hits when you rez the new house, start putting down furniture, and after grueling hours of decorating, you’ve got a home!!!

New Home!

I haven’t gotten to the decorating part yet, but I did manage to set down the beautiful lake house Aya created and a few goodies around the outside!  Sitting here, leaning against my new suitcase (a special edition from Baffle! for the Haiti donations)I got to thinking how I probably should have gone shopping for furniture instead of these boots and sweater from Annex and Aoharu…but the sale is still going on..who can beat 50% off until Jan 24th?! Priorities! Read the rest of this entry »

Kickin’ It Old School

Kickin' It Old School

One of my favorite aspects of fashion blogging is getting to play around with unique styles to create something of my own.  In fact, I’m usually having the most fun in SL just hanging out in my house trying on folder upon folder of clothing as each item inspires me in a different way to eventually evolve into an outfit.  Last night I was playing around with clothes, and this ensemble just sort of happened.  And when I shot over to check out the  new items at the Haiti Relief Effort build in Scribble, I received 3 IMs from people complimenting me on my outfit, which NEVER happens to me.  So, it must be at least a little bit cute, right?  Otherwise the joke is on me!

My Favorite Things…

5

As I started my first post for Second Style, I found myself humming the tune of “My Favorite Things” from the Sound of Music.  It just so happens that it’s the perfect theme for my debut here!  Stacie Pryor set the bar quite high for her gorgeous first look, and following that is no easy feat.  As she mentioned in her First Impressions, I will also be posting twice a week and am thrilled to join this gorgeous team!!!

There seem to be a few basics that I wear and have become my staple favorites.  First of them is my skin, from the ever talented Tricky Boucher of Belleza.   I have fallen in love with his Jesse line, but am eager and very excited about the release of Alyson which will come any day now!   The second is my hair, from TRUTH.  I am drawn to it!  Every week there is a release and every week I, and all of my friends, wait with bated breath to see what goodness Truth Hawks has created for us.  We are NEVER disappointed.  The styles always leave you with this “must have” attitude and so we run to his new sim and pray it will rez quickly so that we can snatch up our colors!
My Favorite Things
My other favorites?  Accessories!  The new releases from Paper Coutureincluded this ring.  My ring of all rings, which replaced their Times Square Ring that never left my finger.  Yes, it is precious, don’t you dare touch it!  Purses!!! Can we really ever have enough?  The hard part with purses and our AOs is that we often knock ourselves in the head or it just doesn’t look natural with our movements.  Often, the purse defies gravity in some sense.  However, this purse from [[SHADE THRONE]]comes with it’s own poses and will work with your ao.  So, have no fear, you won’t be walking around flailing it along.   The earrings I have on are from Zaara.  She is one of the most talented and amazing designers I believe that we are lucky enough to have on the grid.  From her fashion designs to her gorgeous jewelry, there is no stopping her!  SHOES! SHOES! SHOES!  Stiletto Moody. Read the rest of this entry »

First Impressions

First Impressions

This is my first post here at Second Style, and I’m so excited to be part of such a great fashion blog!  I’ll be bringing you looks twice a week, so I hope you’ll tune in for lots of fashionable goodness.  The lovely Rylan Carling is also joining the Second Style blog, and I just know you’re going to love what you see here.  First impressions always count, so I thought I’d start off with a sweet and feminine look that is very much the epitome of my own style.
