Date Night:Keeping Warm on Winter Nights-3 Coats U Need

1

Shiryu Musashi, the creator of Musashi-Do recently released December Warth, a retro inspired, dress length coat that has so much style it hurts. This gorgeous houndstooth pattern comes in several colors. And, because he loves you – it’s 20% off for the next three days!  Score! I’m wearing it with Zaara’s Ishaya velvet pants to add a casual relaxed look to this structured jacket.

This is color Teal and each is more gorgeous than the next. I can’t pick a favorite, you can’t make me.

The next must have for this winter season is from Hilarious creator Kesseret Steeplechase. It’s a gorgeous stylized military coat and I think this is a great casual coat, but again with a very structured style.

If you don’t like the structured style of the first two……I have an alternative that is still on my MUST HAVE’S list. Sysy’s Luna jacket. With delicate frog closures and a rich deep texture in each color, this jacket is a perfect fitted look for you girls who like to show off those curves.

I’m also wearing earrings from Dark Mouse’s latest release – the Stacie earrings. They are SO cute I may never take them off.

Todays’ skin is by YS & YS, the Nina Skin in ROSE – Sunny tone. A gorgeous femme look.

Where To Get It?

  • Shape – Gidge Custom Shape by Hatchy Mills
  • Skin – YS & YS Nina – Rose – Sunny
  • Hair- Laqroki – Devine – Sunkissed

E-Thanksgiving for EVERYONE!

2

I thought I would take a moment to share some pictures from our first SL Thanksgiving!

I had no plans in RL this year to go out for Thanksgiving, and would pretty much be home alone when I first started to arrange this.  I was excited to see that so many people, whether they were home alone like me, or from another part of the world and just curious to experience it, wanted to join.

So Tenshi Vielle and I got together and set up a nice looking “Home”  to throw the shindig, and I was very lucky to have The Loft provide us with a gorgeous table to celebrate our feast at!  Thanks so much Colleen!  The table is fantastic, because the runner is color change, and so are the chairs, so you can alter the set for your mood.  It also comes with a great looking sideboard, and accessories galore… I particularly liked the table settings, which were perfect for the Thanksgiving look.  I do think it will also look wonderful for a potential Christmas dinner, and highly recommend it.

At any rate, we had a wonderful time, with a bunch of good friends, sitting around the table and eating our feast, while chatting and laughing together.  It was really special to have so many friends from around the world who’d never been to an American Thanksgiving dinner participate!

Of course everyone came dressed in the Turkey Day best…so have a look at what everyone sported;

Date Night: Clothes Horse 50L Sale Makes Date Dressing CHEAP!

Clothes Horse, the partner store to Symphony Skins, is having a 50L sale on ALL their clothes until the end of the year – when that inventory will be retired and replaced with a whole new line.

This entire coat outfit – Sofia- is only 50L! I added boots from Digit Darkes – the Clyde boot.

I love this jumper look and it comes with full tights or thigh highs, if you want to sexy it up. Personally – I JUST GET TOO COLD! :)

Claire Hartsford has a fantastic range as a creator, from casual to club to chic. If you haven’t been to clothes horse this is a great time to check out what she has to offer.

Claire is also the creator at Symphony Skin – ONE of my all time favorite skinners. Her work is exquisite.

Date Night:Let Your Hucci Out

posted by Gidge Uriza

House of Hucci has just released a new set of cocktail dresses that are perfect for pixel girls who want to wear something everyone else doesn’t have on. The fun prim transparency at the waist gives this dress a flowing look that  you don’t always find in shortie dress. It’s a fun inclusion – bravo!

I am pairing it today with a stunning new jewelry release from EarthStones-  MALHIKA earrings and necklace which is available in both wood tones and metals which are color change. Once again Abraxxa has made my eyes hurt with her fantastic detail work.

I’m showing it all off over PXL Creations newest release- July – In Natural Tone and spring red lips.

Hart Larsson’s work is gorgeous, as always.

Date Night:Make Mine Nymphetamine

1

The Gothic inspired fashions at Nymphetamine offer a wide range of looks and I’m always surprised at the fun you can find in the fashion there.  Lots of ruffles and lots of cleavage are always on tap for sexy looks that range from not-quite demur to outright hot-mama.

This Tulli dress includes the gorgeous “I’m off to the races at Ascot” themed hat and I love the detailing on the bodice. Just a little too short, just a little too much cleavage to be demure – yet…….it’s a great ladylike look.

Luckily, I’ve got legs that go all the way up.

Another recent release at Nymphetamine is the Soho babydoll. Again lots of ruffles and an emphasis on your pixel bosoms makes you one of the sexiest girls around.

Here is a close up of the bodice.

I think sweet little details like the bows on the sleeves really set the creations apart at Nymphetamine from your average dress store. It’s just that little something extra that says “quality” and that’s so important to me.

Today I’ve slipped into one of  Exodi’s Lily skins in Cedar. This is one of the Picks Rewards skins – she gives you a lovely set of skins for having Exodi in your picks. I’ve been a fan of Ryker Beck’s work for some time and now even more so. It’s a gorgeous body (check out the beautiful legs in the shots above) and what’s better – you can pick this version of Lily up for free, just for putting EXODI in your picks.

Where it should have been anyway! :)

Where to get it?

  • Shape – Gidge Custom Shape by Hatchy Mills
  • Skin – Exodi Picks Gift – Lily – Cedar (free)
  • Hair – Truth – Jess – Barley (also free at Truth)
  • Dresses – Nymphetamine - Tulli (first set) and Soho Baby Doll
  • Shoes – Tesla - Shiny Felicity in Black
  • Eyes – PXL Creations - Glow eyes in FATE
  • Lashes – Dimepiece – Marla (this store seems to be gone :( but these are some of my favie lashes)

Second Style Issue #29 Available Now!

4

Cover Nov 09Welcome to Second Style’s November issue, and with that welcome I’d also like to say “Hello!”  I am the new Managing Editor for the magazine.  However, I am not a stranger as I’ve been with Second Style for quite a few months now, just in a different role.  I also have a lot of magazine experience as I’ve worked with 2 other Second Life magazines in the past.  This is however my first “go” at editing.

I remember when I first joined Second Life, one of the very first blogs I ever read was Second Style.  It truly is a surreal and exciting time for me to be part of something I admired so long ago!  I think so many of you share that sentiment, Second Style was the first for so many of us…

I am looking so forward to not only maintaining the already well known magazine, but helping us to grow even further then we have in the past 29 issues.  Hopefully over the next few months you will see exciting new content, as well as some good oldies brought back!  We have an amazing team in place, and Second Style continues to be everyone’s go to magazine in-world.

For our 29th issue we are opening up and expressing ourselves, with a bit of a free-for-all issue.  Our guest contributor Surarin Piek comes to us this month with her take on a girl’s night out fashion spread, while Gabby Panacek’s To Top It Off focuses on accessories this month.  As always James Schwarz gives us some eye candy in the way of a Fall Walk in the Park.  Amika Jewel takes us on a tour of the all new Amerie sim and Lordfly Digeridoo’s Architect Square focuses in on what makes for a good shopping sim.  Ana Lutetia takes a look at Boudoir with this month’s Fresh Faces, and Dancien Graves hits the Open Road.  Style Icon this month, sits down with Grady Echegaray, and Juana Manuel debates the diverse culture behind Broken Dolls.

Enjoy all of that and more with us this November!
