Finding a good long hair in Second Life is a bit of a challenge. I set out on the last days of Hair Fair to find that perfect hair.

Shag: Summer Fling in Blonde
This is a great style, very inventive, looks fabulous from all sides. The texture could be more defined though – it looks rather flat.
Maitreya: Dylan in Gold Blonde
Maitreya has possibly one of the best textures but is also the most expensive of the four styles I ended up picking from Hair Fair. I love how it realistically and gently falls around the avatar.
The third style I chose is Beauty Avatar: Kiana. It’s great for its bangs, but beyond that it’s too flat for my liking, prim-wise. The texture is great.
The fourth and final styles is Truth: Sophia in Dune. It’s a great curly, voluminous style with lots of heavy, realistic texture.
I think it’s a close call between Maitreya: Dylan and Truth’s Sophia in terms of best long style. Maitreya has a better overall construction but Truth’s Sophia quickly outruns Maitreya by being able to work with almost any pose. With the Maitreya hair, a pose will occasionally push it into the avatar. Maitreya is more expensive while Truth’s Sophia tends to run the more “normal” pricing range.
