Hello again, friends.
I wanted to share some of my favorite skin(s) with you before I checked out for the day.
If you haven’t dropped into ***UNIQUE MEGASTORE*** I highly recommend you do so, even if you’re not in the market for new skins; just go demo a few. I have the ‘German Skin’ for one of my alts, but I was delighted when Iarita Beck shared the entire pack with me. The detail is just exquisite; the individual hairs on the eyebrows, the shading around the eyes, and the texture on the lips make me love this set. I’ve shared three here, but go discover the others for yourself– it’s worth it. Don’t forget to peek at the guy’s versions, too. Stunning.

I ought to have a little more variety in my upcoming photos, thanks to Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose [LAP]. She sent over two sets of blogger poses that I added to my [LAP] collection. Her male and female poses are not only stellar, but she’s done an adorable job redesigning her store. Go. Now.
Cheers, Brig.

When I stumbled upon risey Arai’s afghan stole and Ansor Hoorenbeek’s cowgirl boots I made that sound girls make when they see baby animals (good thing I didn’t have voice on). I fell hard for both, and then couldn’t have been more pleased when risey and Ansor were willing to share the items with me. Since I couldn’t decide on which ‘western’ ensemble I liked better, I’m going to share two of the dozen or so that I put together.
Cheers, Brig

The Anniversary Masque of Polaire Aeghin and Cezare Blanco was just the excuse I needed to invest in something I’ve coveted, oh, since the first time I ever saw it.
The EMPIRE FALLS gown and shoes from Digit Darkes is part of a magnificent collection by Digit Darkes, bringing a stylized French Court to modern fashion. I’ve eyeballed the various dresses in this collection as well as the hair and accoutrement FOR the hair forever. Receiving the invitation to a Masque was just what I NEEDED!

Can I tell you that this skirt DANCES like a dream? Billowing wispy skirt prims waving all around me with grace and frankly – they looked like floating gold as we danced around the sea of wildflowers.
My partner is my love in both lives, Silo Uriza who outfitted himself at 18th Century. We hopped over there based on a suggestion from someone in the Vain group. He transformed from his normal Mech AV into a gorgeous 18th Century Rake. Hats plus hair plus Masks can be hard to manage. He had to attach his mask to his chin, I believe, to make it all work.

Some beautiful examples of the motion of this skirt for you…

I chose the Coffee Lips of the GRACE Skin by PXL Creations. I found a mask store simply because I put in MASQUE in SEARCH and found a store – MKS which has a ton of photosourced masks which look quite good.

I highly recommend a formal evening once in a while. It’s great fun to simply overdress because you can. And it’s a lovely way to spend a romantic evening with the one you love. If you are lucky enough, he’ll even dress up too.

Marnis Style Musings
Welcome to the first of my posts for second style, every Tuesday I hope to bring you guys style bites and bits of my opinion on fashion related garb. I wanted to put a look together for this post although I plan on doing different things each week.

Everyone and the mum has this Milk Motion jacket atm and I wanted to put my own spin on the look. I’d like to think this outfit would be Adam Ants and lady GaGas love child. I love this sort of style a military jacket is such a versatile piece and this Milk Motion version is one of the best in my opinion out there. The earrings are a Race For Live Item. The Indie RFL was excellent the items everyone produced were terrific.

As I was wandering the grid gazing at items to review for my version of a Memorial Day post, I ran into jake10684 Painter– the co-owner of Cyanid. He had on the “That’s What She Said” tee and pointed me to Aitui, where I went and snatched it (and some others) up. If you haven’t been (I hadn’t, before today), you ought to drop by and check out Jesseaitui Petion’s work; I fell in love with it. I’ll have more of it to show you in tomorrow’s holiday post.
After I stuffed my hands with Aitui treats I headed over to Cyanid, clicked the lucky cupcake, and won the pose wall I’m standing in front of in these photos. To say I was delighted would be an understatement; I just adore winning things!
Cheers, Brig

Despite the fact that I’m tickled pink to be writing for Second Style now, I thought I would pretend I was calm and cool about it and just launch into my first post with little aplomb.
Who am I kidding? OMG! I am so excited! Must calm down, must pretend not to be so fangrled up you can hardly move!
Okay, now that I’ve got myself back together……..
Date Night the night before the Indy 500 can run the GAUNTLET of fashion options, from the Casual Cook Out at your friends place (black and white attire most positively looked upon but not required) to the more formal of events.

You might get invited to a trendy club or a house party where there is catering instead of the guys gathered out back around the grill with India Pale Ale talking about stuff no one but them cares about anyway. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s happened to all of us at one point or another in our second lives. We’re out on a date and things take a turn for the worse– what began as jovial and felicitous becomes exasperating and just plan atrocious. The moment arrives when we simply have to take the situation in our own hands and end things– so to speak.
Pididdle’s newly released set of Lilian dresses– specifically this color aptly named ‘Murder in the Garden’– inspired me to put together this outfit (and served as the catalyst for the bloodshed that followed). I paired it with my rather versatile white blazer from [Pink], the classic black ‘Natasha’ heels from Tesla, and a cute little flower ring I found the other day at (Elate!).
A special thank you to Brutus Martinek for sending the dresses my way, and to my victim, who tirelessly dragged his body around on the ground so that I could get the best shot (pun intended).
[7:26] Brigitte Belgar: You are so gracious for agreeing to pose dead for me.
[7:27] Truth Ogre: It is honorable.
Cheers, Brig

Salutations, blog world!
I couldn’t have been more delighted when I was invited to join Second Style’s team as a blogger and magazine staff writer this past week. While I can’t purport to be SL’s preeminent fashion guru, I do take (probably too much) delight in discovering the work of SL’s innovative and inspiring designers. I simply adore arranging that work in refreshing and whimsical ways– something I hope you’ll find entertaining to read about and view photographic documentation of.
Milk Motion’s new leather ‘Pocahontas’ sandals inspired this somewhat adventitious, folksy ensemble. They’re available in the two versions– high and low– and I have it on good authority that more colors will be arriving in your local Milk Motion store soon. I can’t thank Marie Lauridsen enough for her generosity in sharing them with me.
Cheers, Brig

A few people decided it would be a wonderful idea to declare May 21st an SLational holiday… Callie Cline day! If any of you do not know who Callie Cline is, I am so very sorry.
She is one of the most energetic, thoughtful, creative people I know. She is always aware of her customers and does all she can to make them feel welcome. She is constantly having “flash sales” where she has a 15 minute sale on whatever her crazy brain is thinking of that day! She is known to be at her store during these sales, chatting and playing with her loyal group members. If you are not in, Ihighly suggest you join the CAL GAL group! This picture above is me high fiving her after I just took advantage of one of her amazing sales!
I first met Miss callie at her store in the 2008 RFL clothing fair. Her outfit that year was the “Venus Gone Wild” which you can see me in, above. She was gathered there with a couple of her personal friends, also fellow designers. She had a picture pose thing set up in front of her shop, and next thing I know, she is inviting me to take the spare pose ball with them!
Another time, I got TP’d to some party, somewhere..and who do you think is up onstage, dancing her lil booty off? Miss Callie! Of course! Hehe…it was a G show, but entertaining all the same! She is also involved in a lot of the various charity foundations around SL. Most recently, she was highly involved in the Maseno Project.
In closing, not only is Callie an amazing designer, but she is also a thoughtful, dedicated, and creative soul. I am proud to know her in my SL, and happy to share my feelings for her on this day, CALLIE CLINE DAY!
Visit her store now.
