CHANTKARE (Shant*kar*ray) is a nice clothing store owned by Applonia Criss. It is located on the Tabula Rasa sim. I had the pleasure of trying out some of her latest designs, and I must say, I am impressed! I love her use of fabrics and prints. The layout of her store is nice as well. She is a friendly and helpful creator, and I suggest you get on down and try her stuff today!

The Butterfly dress is composed of a nice, warm, wool sweater, and a really cute butterfly print pencil skirt. Matching hose and a chunky belt finish this look off.
The Batik Dress is a really soft and silky retro print dress. The skirt features a high cut waist and a cute asymmetrical hemline, which gives it a lot of body. The long sleeve low cut bodice is perfect for those chilly autumn evenings, but also nice and sexy.

The Hayden Dress consists of a fitted confetti dot jacket which accents a lovely shimmery pink dress. Sheer pink hose and a flowing chiffon waist tie complete this ensemble. Negro Vita 2 is a silky, turquoise baby doll dress with an asymmetrical hemline, and dainty spaghetti straps.

In the tradition of showcasing the most creative, talented people of Second Life, KMADD welcomes four Yip to KMADD Center for the ARTS. The exhibit opens on Friday, October 10th, at 3pm SLT, followed by Mitch Triellis (http://www.allanpetersen.cl) live from Chile singing famous old school jazz songs (Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin) on the KMADD City Plaza beginning at 4pm slt. four Yip is a shining star in 2D digital art. She is a master with graphic manipulation in Photoshop, where she turns snapshots of avatars she meets and creates realistic portraits that look like a combination of a painting and a photograph. Often whimsical, always evocative, Yip’s work stands powerfully on its own. It opens wide the window to the soul of the player behind the avatar, picking up on clues of that person’s personality from their style and appearance. Some may recognize Yip from her notable presence in the SL Flickr community, others from her tiny, quirky shop in which she “sells” everything for free from a propeller swing for four, to winged, stork-legged bird chairs to a Charlie Chaplin cinema package (moving background included).

The exhibit opens October 10th and is part of KMADD City’s one year anniversary celebration running from October 9-12.

If you read my post a couple weeks back about the Impressione Weekend of Beauty, then you would remember that I was a contestant in the Natural Beauty competition. I am pleased to announce that I placed 2nd! Mavi Beck was #1 and Adriana Princess came in 3rd.

The Weekend of Beauty was an amazing 72-hour event which celebrated health and beauty in all its shapes and sizes. The weekend’s events included music, art, and fashion and displayed the amazing diversity that makes our world so rich and special.

Each of us were asked to present 2 looks for our runway competition. The first being an “SL Look”…how we normally dress/look in SL, an the second a “RL Look”…what we feel about ourselves in RL. It was so neat to see the difference, or similarities in all of the girls.

It was a pleasure and an honor to work with so many beautiful girls, and to help raise awareness for NEDA at the same time. We are all beautiful!

The most fun and amazing sim has been created. If you love The Wizard of Oz books, then you MUST, I repeat MUST get to The Magic of Oz sim NOW!

This place is complete with the Yellow Brick Road, Emerald City, Witch’s Castle, Munchkin Land AND even flying monkeys! There is just so much to explore. They have the poppy field, the wheat field (including the Scarecrow!), emerald waterfalls, haunted woods, Dorothy’s jacked up house, and even the tree with the lunch bucket!

The opening party was all this weekend, unfortunately, I did not get info in time to be able to share it with you all until now. But, the owners of the sim, Candy Cerveau and Malkavyn Eldritch, have extended a very exciting hunt they were having. It was scheduled to end this morning, but due to the overwhelming popularity of this place, and the inability of anyone to get in, they will be keeping it going until Friday! Woohoo!

You will be looking for slippers…ruby, emerald and silver. The ruby slippers rez randomly, and then disappear once clicked. The emerald and silver ones are stationary. The fabulous prizes these slippers contain are from many of the merchants located on the sim. Silent Sparrow, LAP, Miriel, Schadenfreude, The Stringer Mausoleum, Juicy, MnM Design, Designs of Darkness, and the list goes on and on. Also, some of the designers who have moved into the shops sprinkled in munchkin land and the witch’s castle have also created new releases themed around Magic of Oz sim, which can be purchased!

Ever since Camilla Yosuke from Insolence started to make her pretty lingerie, I’ve been following her releases (and buying them). Her latest, Lilly, is a pretty piece that comes with tons of options on all layers. Tattoo friendly, outfit friendly, you name it, you got it. And not only does it come on all layers, you also get to choose between the corset, the small corset and the bra and the panties or the tiny thong, with or without garters for the beautiful stockings Err… choose, which one to wear that is, not which one to buy, because all options are in the folder. This set comes in rich dark colours, beautiful for the fall and winter.

The prim work, the frilly bits on the cups as well as on the bottom of the corset and the panties are fitting me without the need of adjusting any (something that i really appreciate) and the same goes for the satin ribbon on the back. The gloss on the stockings is really gorgeous and I’ll wear them a lot this season. I wouldn’t mind if Camilla decided to make other colours of them as well.

October! My favorite month! I love Autumn and Halloween has always been my favorite “holiday”. If you’re a loyal FashCon shopper, you probably knew all about Pulse’s clearance sale, offering the first generation of skins for a mere L$200. I hope you had a chance to stock up on oldies but goodies.

Lorac Farella, the artist behind Pulse – who hand draws a great deal of the skins she sells is releasing a new line in just a few days (October 5th is the projected release date) and she was kind enough to share a preview.

Although there will be 5 different skin tones, at the time we spoke, only one “Soft Ivory” had been officially named. To the left here is “Innocense” a very natural makeup look with and without freckles. On the top left is a glammed-to-the-max makeup called, appropriately, Pose Me. The wild peacock feather glamazon eyelashes are courtesy of Pandora Jensen (Pandora just made a whole bunch more lashes

Even though the earlier Pulse skins have been retired now, the second generation of Lorac’s skins – each given names like “Gifted” “Kissed” or “Blissed” (Passion and Oh My! make up looks are shown here in the Blissed tone) show the kind of incredible body detail and hand painted shading that’s been lavished on these skins. While I absolutely love the lower torso shading, I think some of the lines around the collarbone and neck could be a bit less extreme – and looking at the upcoming release, it’s obvious that’s an area that’s been radically changed from previous skin releases. I’m going to be looking forward to seeing the darker tones in the new release because the previous darker tones in the 1st generation skins were really good.

On top of skins, Pulse also creates a line of clothing, eyes, and other accessories which are worth checking out. My favorite items at the store, though, are definitely the skins.

The PSD source files Sezmra Svarog’s third generation skin Splendor have been out for a few weeks now, but she’s recently been teasing an update with some improvements to various body parts and shadings but it hasn’t quite been released just yet.

If you don’t feel like shelling out money for Photoshop, you can always download GIMP a free image manipulation package (borrowed from Linux) that can open and save to PSD files.

And finally, if you’re just looking for some really beautiful skins for free, you can pick up copies (the “official” versions are copy/mod/no transfer) from Sezmra’s island TwentyOne (185, 81, 38) which currently bears an uncanny resemblance to Amon Hen from Lord of the Rings.

Why, she wears Jador, that’s what! And not just any Jador, but a custom made gown, only available to her for her walk as a potential Miss SL Universe contestant. While I was not chosen to move on in the Miss SL Universe 2009 pageant, I sure felt like a beauty queen! I contacted ziamela Loon about 12 hours before I needed the gown, and she came through like the pro that she is! She even let me keep this lovely gown for myself for over 5 days. Then, of course, it was released to the public.

The Swan is a feathery concoction that can be worn a few different ways. Includes a gorgeous face mask, and a large plume of feathers for that extra pizzaz. You can even chose to wear it sexy as all hell, or more moderate if you are one of those shy girls. This gown is also available in a black version.
