One evening, I was invited by Mimi Juneau to come to her store, Mimi’s Choice, and see the latest Jador releases. Heck yeah, I was there! What fun it was as we all gathered high in the sky above JD Hansen’s M17 store. The awards ceremony for JCNY’s August MODEL’FEST was quite the show. Hostessing and spinning the tunes was DJ Eris Alexandre. Many of SL’s top fashion names were on hand and everyone mingled and danced, making for a wonderful time. Tension was high, and many models nearly passed out as the minutes were counted down. Finally, at 3pm, the grand prize winner was announced…Ella Quinsette! Fergie Foxchase was chosen as runner up.
Every month, JCNY hosts a great model competition open to any and all in SL. You can pick up an entry form from one of the many kiosks around the flagship store. The first round of models for September’s MODEL’FEST will be announced September 3rd.
A while back, I was given some very nice clothes from GM Nikolaidis. He and Barbara Nicholls are the owners of Spork, which is opening its flagship store this Saturday, September 6th at 12noon SLT. The satellite store opened on August 30th. I am very excited to share these great clothes with you all! I look forward to visiting the flagship store for its grand opening at Cassiopeia.
Victoria is a very cute spaghetti strap top that comes in all layers. A velvet textured fabric in gold, black, and blue caresses your skin, drawing attention from everyone! The London jeans are quite a bargain as they come in three different styles. Capri length with cute prim cuffs, skinny leg perfect for wearing with boots, and a slightly flared style.
I look forward to more from Spork. These early designs are great, and can only get better! I encourage you all to go and see for yourself. Impressione Announces NEW Date for “Weekend of Beauty”
September 3, 2008 — Impressione, a full-service virtual worlds marketing agency, must reschedule the dates for the premiere event, “Weekend of Beauty”. Originally planned for the weekend of September 5-7, the event has been delayed by 3 weeks. The new dates are Friday, September 26th through Sunday, September 28th.
The schedule change is due to a number of technical problems with the event facilities including content loss, crashing, sim delivery and linking of the multiple sims by Linden Lab, as well as ongoing server issues that significantly impact stability and performance. Our event venue has been designed with the goal of the highest quality guest experience possible within Second Life and regrettably under these conditions this is not possible.
Impressione apologizes for the inconvenience of this date change, but we must ensure the event is able to proceed as designed. Many thanks to the participating musicians, artists and designers for their understanding and patience.

This new line of skins called “Callye”, by Disembodied Hand from Defectiva, makes me question the store’s moniker. Shown here are five of the ten fabulous and unique makeups from the Callye line, due to be released within the next couple of days. There are currently four skintones (“Tan” shown here), with a possible fifth surfacing prior to release. Each skin has a “clean” eyeliner, and “noir” (shown) eyeliner option.
The skins are hand-painted, and the body is soft. I tend to favor unique makeups, above all, and I think Callye has a lot to offer in the way of expressing individuality. If heavy body detail is important to you, however, I would suggest giving your demo a thorough look.
Defectiva also offers men’s fashion, and Disembodied says he plans to release male skins in the future. Lots of freebies for the group are also up for grabs!
