it is three years since this blog came out and unfortunately the tutorial situation has only gotten worse. with the growing number of grids and the lack of any kind of universal inventory system the only way to have a reasonably consistent look from grid to grid is to use a home-made or at least a PSD-based skin since most of the skin makers are either not on the other grids or price the skins very high like they do in sl, so the need for skin tutorials is higher than ever and the few old websites with them are closing one by one.

hey greenback, it’s people like you who care more about profit than learning and being a part of a community that really make sl suck.

as a novice to skin creation, eloh’s skins have helped me learn how to create skins… if you look online you can find clothing tutorials, and some build tutorials but no one teaches skin making techniques! and this is because of greedy people like greenbacks who don’t want anyone to know how to make skins so they can rake in all the cash. people like eloh and sezmra are awesome for giving people the chance to learn!

Thanks Greenback, for your unintentional reassurance. I feel a whole lot better about my decision. I seriously cannot see why anyone could think negatively of someone offering content for free use.

“The Skins Market” has never been my concern. I never made skins to make Lindens; it was just a nice side effect. I never said I didn’t like SL anymore. I log in almost every day to enjoy myself. What I *don’t* like is the attitude of many skin businesses. What I *don’t* like is busting my ass on a virtual business that is just too much trouble these days.

But you go ahead and spit on my contributions – all the better.

Way to kill the skins market! I don’t like SL anymore…..so i’ll just flood the already saturated sector with my free PSD’s. Eloh Elliot didn’t do the skins sector any favours either!
Don’t know why you people ever bothered in the first place. If you would have learnt to market properly and you have made a decent amount income from it.
