The Skinny on Skin Flicks

4

skinflicks.jpg

Mavis McGettigan of Skin Flicks has finished a new line of skins called “Zuwena”.  Shown here in the “Natural Beige” tone, Zuwena comes in 6 tones total with 6 makeups. I was very impressed with this line of skins as compared to past versions I’ve seen from Skin Flicks. The Zuwena line has lovely body details, and great makeup options.  (Please ignore how I didn’t notice my hair was sticking out of my chest in this pose until later. That’s not the skin. It’s me. Kthxbai?) Each skin is sold separately for L$999, and comes with the eyebrow shape and the Zuwena shape (not pictured).

Oh for the love of hair…

2

for_the_love_of_hair_1.jpgWhile browsing the hair fair, I came across something that just had me rolling in RL…four bald avatars dressed in swimsuits all sitting on a Jeff Goldblum textured prim! I hear dpeople talking about how awful the lag was, but wow! I absolutely had to snap some pictures as this was quite the sight! Kiki Cunningham, Apatia Hammerer, Tricksie Delight, Crystyle Bukowski and Stein Shilova all worked as a team to do their part to reduce lag and help out Locks of Love.

for_the_love_of_hair_3.jpgUpon my asking to use the picture here on the blog, I found that Crystyle Bukowski is a content creator! She is the hilarious genuis behind Pudge. She so kindly offered me some of the hair that she had at the fair. Not excatly for review, but as a gift for my offering of sharing with you all the comedy that she and her friends provided for me. This one is called the birthday girl. A cascading tower of presents rests upon my head, while my long hair is wrapped around each one and then tied into a lovely bow, holding them in place. My next rez day I know what hair I’m wearing!! She told me she made that one back in June around her birthday, and was saving it for a special occasion. What better an occasion the Locks of Love! You rock Crystyle!

for_the_love_of_hair_2.jpgI had to visit her store located the Floyd sim. A giant hamburger and fries greeted me! I found a little bit of everything here! Interesting poses with ridiculously funny names and each only $35L. A nice selection of fun hair, again with tons of humor added in. Not only are the ads funny, but the names of the items were cracking me up too! Glasses, shapes, clothes… what a fun gal she is! Trailer park humor abounds, as well as a couple freebies! Earrings at the pick up window, and a free baby in the French fries. If you can appreciate some good old trailer park trash humor, then I suggest you get your tush on over to Pudge! http://slurl.com/secondlife/floyd/31/94/25/

Rhi in a wedding gown?!

0

wed_gown_1.jpgI was browsing through my endless inventory, when I came across a wedding gown and an evening gown. “When the hell did I get these?” I thought. I tried them both on, and while they were each lovely, I liked the wedding dress a bit more then the other. Turns out they are from Gracie’s Bridal. This gown I am showing you is called Moonlight Sonata. The bodice is very low cut in both the front and the back, and finished on each side (side meaning front and back openings) with tiny, blue flowers. Perfect for the bride who is feeling sexy and wants the world to know! The fabric is a tight woven lace, which continues down the skirt and train. A sheer tulle overlay gives this gown a light, airy feel. There are 2 prim skirt sizes, and 2 smart skirt options. Mod/trans on all except smart version is trans only.

wed_gown_2.jpgAlso included with this lovely dress is an interesting veil and an optional skirt bustle ribbon. Fragrant, blue flowers wrap your head and finishing the back is delicate, cascading tulle. The bustle ribbon kisses the top of your derriere with a sheer, blue bow while a lighter shade of blue ribbons fall behind. I felt like such a princess while wearing this gown. I typically take my pictures in my back yard, but I was compelled to go and find a nice chapel for these. This gown is a mere $1100L and is available only at Gracie’s Bridal, http://slurl.com/secondlife/fortinbras/106/148/37/

KA Design skins…yummy!

0

I had posted an event on our calendar about KA Designs Skins. I was not able to attend due to RL work, but I kept overhearing conversations all over SL about these skins! I went to the store to check them out. They definitely looked good from the store ads. I had a little chat with the creator, Kira Ahn, and she was more then happy to drop me the skins to try them out and share with you all!

kafaces.jpgThe skins are available for $1000 each, or you can get 8 skins in a fatpack for $6999. Pale comes in 2 versions, DB (dark brows) and LB (light brows). Sunkissed comes in DB, LB, and freckled. Dark tan in DB or LB and then Ebony only in DB. Kira is also offering four free gift skins of each shade in special edition make-ups that have really cool flower tattoo’s on them.

KA_body.jpgUpon my review I found that nail polish fits good, although only first 3 toes get polish…but most shoes don’t show any more then the first 3 anyway. The girl bits look good with just a bit of hair. There’s not as much definition at the neck that I usually am drawn to, but still very nice. The back looks good with great shoulder blades and spine.

In my full body pic I am wearing:

Kalideiscope Bikini by Callie Cline
Detour Prairie Brown hair
Miriel Realistic Eyes Aurora

The face pic is in this order:

LionSkins! A must see!

0

To celebrate the release of their new skin, Suzana, LionSkins gave out a few skins to bloggers. I was lucky enough to get 3 of them. All freckled versions, which I love! The make-up is so funky, just perfect for clubbing. I looked over the skin and was very pleased. Great details, including the neck/collarbone area, which, as I am sure, you all know by now is a favorite of mine. The back bone is nicely highlighted…that looks great in a swim suit. But, my most favorite part…the ADORABLE butt dimples in the lower back! OMG I love them!

lionskins_faces.jpgI went down to the store which has a nice airy feel to it. The Suzana line has 5 different skin tones, fair, pale, sun kissed, sun, and dark. Each one of these shades has 2 categories. Runway and glamour. You can also get a freckled skin which only comes in pale. In addition, they have a section called Beast which is a more raw, dramatic, gritty look. Beast is available in fair, pale and sun kissed. The skins are sold separately at $1200 each. Highly worth it. When I asked the owner/creator Lion Jonesford if there were fat packs available, she said “No, I like to have everyone make their own cocktail!” Fun!

You can also find a sign with information on the LionSkins Personality Contest in it, and older line of skins called Zee, available at $600L each. There are also some LeeZu Baxter items. The ZuZu Monokini is sold exclusively here, as well as the Liz dress in black.

LionSkins_full_body.jpgI was able to chat with Olyvia Zenovka, the store manager. She had some very interesting things to say:
“The skins are designed in two parts because everyone has a “beauty” and glamorous side, and then the rahr! side at times too. It’s important to us, to allow the beauty within all of us to shine through. Even if you’re someone who chooses to not go with traditional glamour for your definition of beauty. Eventually, we want to challenge the boundaries of “by the book” beauty, and let it be known that each of us has our own style and beauty. At one point, we toyed with the line, “The evoluskin of beauty,” because we really do want to let everyone know that they are beautiful. You shouldn’t be afraid of color, or a bit different way to wear your makeup. Individuality sets us apart from the rest of the world, and here, we want to celebrate that rather than discourage it. Which is why we try and have so many makeup’s with the Suzana line. So that there’s something for everyone.”

Fuk you? No! Fukmi!

So, I was given a Manager Freebie pack from Fukmi by Amanda Shinji. The styles in this pack were alright…but just not quite my style. So I decided to hop on over to Fukmi and check it out. Upon landing, I found myself in a grungy airport hangar type of place. Very cool! I nosed around the place and found some other interesting shops, Luscious Latex, Shiny Girl, Graves, Poise ‘n Ivy, Maggie’s Creations, and many more.

fukmi_001.jpgI went in Fukmi to check out what else they had to offer. Quite a few items, from cute and sexy to hot and racy. Upstairs you can find a great separates section featuring pants, tops, skirts and under things., as well as the manager freebie. Everything here has very reasonable prices. I really like their motto: “Fukmi Clothing is designed to inspire and empower you to own your look not conspire to make you look like everyone else!” I chose the Punked full pants/skirt set. This cute little set comes with a tank top (which has 2 options), shorts, pnats, and a skirt! Great for when I am feeling just a bit edgy! LOL

Ebiskin_tops.jpg

Yes.. thank you… I found these cute tops in an almost deserted japanese mall in a shop called Ebiskins. You know, one of those tiny shops that have like uhm… 3 things? In this case a free set of really cute FREE eyes, a few fantasy skins, somewhat feline, and these tops. Fatpack only  I’m afraid… oh well.. not that afraid, since it is priced at L$ 100.

Celebrate India’s Independence Day with { Zaara }

3

Flag_of_India.jpgSnapshot_017.jpgCelebrate India’s Independence Day (yep, that’s August 15) with some incredibly beautiful fashion from { Zaara } by Zaara Kohime. Zaara’s style is usually a blend of old with new – taking traditional colors or prints, for instance and melding them chicly into something that is thoroughly modern looking. I chose to lead off with two of Zaara’s recent — and probably most thoroughly detailed creations to date. To the left is Indian Bride in Saffron along with her stunning collection of bridal jewlery called Suvarna. The bridal set comes with two different tops in two different lengths – the other a bit more modest than the one shown here.

Snapshot_014.jpgNext up is a perfect example of blending old with new in her dress called Calangute (shown in chocolate, also available in lime and strawberry.) The traditional geometric patterns on the skirt hem and the traditional colors of the belts on the jacket layer combine with a beautifully designed and executed modern looking dress.

Snapshot_018.jpgBack to the traditional again. This design is called “Rustic Rhythm” and comes in a variety of colors; this one here is the red version. What’s not to like here? Although I didn’t photograph it, one of the things I admire about Zaara’s creations is that they look good from the back and front. This particular outfit has a lace-up back and the same beautiful detailing all around.

Snapshot_016.jpgFinally, Zaara is developing a growing line of seperates including this top named “Mitali” – another example of blending the old (the geometric pattern of the undershirt) with the totally trend-right layered look. (OK, it’s a turtle neck – maybe a little too early for those in August, but fall will be here before we even know it.)

{ Zaara } is located at Tesla (91, 40, 54).
