A new birthday suit
By Celebrity Trollop | July 1, 2008
As Mimi Coral explained to me, “I’ve been in Second Life for four years and I don’t know anyone!” OK, she might be a tad obscure to some readers, but ever since I got a hit tip about Mimi Coral’s original designs in 2006 I was hooked. Mimi and Rosemary Galbraith of ROSEMAR have teamed up to produce this brand new skin called “Birthday Suit” which is available in 12 skin tones (including my personal favorite ‘fawn’ shown left in sachi Vixen’s awesome Independence Day dollarbie bikini found at Genesis (242, 165, 40), available until July 5th) and 25 different makeup looks (5 makeup collections of 5 hues each.)
So what makes Birthday Suit special? Rosemary Galbraith was one of the first skin designers I know that started using color in the inner crease of the eye — she was about 3 months ahead of this now-trendy real-life look. It was a look which Rosemary let bleed into her Second Life from her First Life. Second is the body shading. Birthday Suit is a photosourced/hand-drawn hybrid skin and by working together on this project, Mimi and Rosemary were able to really do some great shading work. Look at the veins on the hands! Just incredible attention to the shadows and highlights. I happen to think the darker skin tones show off this shading the best, but that could just my personal bias talking there.
I’m really looking forward to seeing more work from Mimi and Rosemary, including, no doubt more makeup choices.
You can shop for Birthday Suit at ROSEMAR in Popfuzz (60, 128, 35).
