Not only does Annah Whitfield create beautiful hand drawn clothing, she is also known for her cute and stylish poses. Annah was kind enough to drop me her latest designs. The Hollywood collection features fine vintage styles, inspired by some of our old time favorites. I have included 3 of the looks I adored.

Marilyn is a look inspired in the legendary Marilyn Monroe and her breathtaking, long evening gowns of ivory chiffon with subtle glitter prints. All the sparkle and excitement of one of the most popular Marilyn Monroe films – “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” has been transported to this dress.

Sometimes you see a dress that just begs to be worn in a million different ways… ICING’s Pinstripe Princess is such a dress. I love Miko’s work , and have a serious crush on her lovely textures and pretty primwork. However I keep picking her system skirt outfits when I need something cute, and need to put it on fast.

Joining SexySecond as the new managing editor of the magazine is well known graphic designer and photographer Elease Graves. All current advertising arrangements in effect at the time of the purchase will continue to be honored as the magazine expects to move into a monthly production schedule slated to start in September.

 I confess… Usually when I have things to do at my shop, I TP, go in.., do the things I need to do and eventually stay for a while to talk to some of the people who happen to be there. Then I TP out again. Sometimes though, I go for a walk,because Rue d’Antibes is a lovely sim, with some interesting shops. So today I noticed a new to me shop, right next door! Reale, owned by Mallu Mayo, has a small, but very cute and feminine inventory. Nicely designed, crisp textures, vibrant colors and nice primwork. And because a girl likes to do something different than skins for a change, I figured I’d share some of Mallu’s work with you. From Left to right: Dulce, Spring and Stampatto.

Mallu also has some cute eyes in her shop, and in her main shop apparently some hair as well.

She claims to be “an ordinary girl in an extraordinary world”…that’s right, Miss caLLie cLine. But if you ask me, she’s full of it! What kind of “ordinary girl” can create a design like this?? The 17 piece collection Swan Song, was inspired by the rezzable sim “Black Swan”. From hot pants, to mini, to cocktail, to gown, any event you attend is covered. Also available is the collaborative work of Callie and Nebulosus Severine - Swan’s Tears Accessory set. It features two different jewelry styles, black pearl or silver, each adorned with an amazing blue swirling pendant. But, not only do you get awesomely cool jewelry, you get awesomely cool EYES too! That’s right, blue swirling eyes! Now that’s ANYTHING but “ordinary” if you ask me!

A cool, blue light emits from the pendant around my neck as my torso is hugged with crushed velvet. Silk runs over my legs, finishing off at my thighs with more exquisite velvet. The same fine silk adorns my arms, along with a shiny, black pearl bracelet. Farther down, crowning my finger, is an amazing water filled blue ring. Feathers bloom from the back of a meticulously sculpted mini which contains bubbles of water that swirl and float, an intricate touch for this look.

Stacks of shiny, black pearls embrace my neck. Wispy feathers drape the flesh of my upper arms, hung delicately from the pearls found there. The soft velvet bodice gives way to more feathers, which dance lightly over my thighs, and down to my calves. I twirl gently, the feathers flowing softly around me.

I’ve never been too enthusiast about Portia Sin’s skins. Somehow they just never worked for me… the skintones… I preferred other brands, the make ups, I preferred other brands still, and my main concern with Sin Skins… the eyebrows.. no matter how I tweaked mine, I couldn’t get them the way I want them. Until last night. I found a preview pack in my inventory. This time Portia has just gotten it right. 8 skin tones, varying from a translucent dolllike porcelain, to a tone that is so dark, I’d call it liquorice. It reminds me of the Tuareg, the beduin people in the Sahara that are known for the almost blue shine to their dark skin. She has also made a freckled skin that I think has about the best freckles in SL. They are uneven, some darker than others, and scattered all over the face, the chest, shoulders, upper arms and back.

The body of this skin is just good… a pleasantly realistic skintexture… not 100% smooth.. but without the ultrarealism some creators put in these days. After all, if the veins in my legs show, they are varicose and it is time to have them done. Same goes for couperose, pores and blemishes. Women all over the world put in a lot of effort to get rid of all that… so I certainly don’t want it in my SL skins. No need for cosmetic surgery with Sin Skins though, the bits are nicely drawn and in harmony with the skintones. The skins come shaven, but, and I love this in the light of the recent “To shave or not to shave” discussion, Portia has found a very creative solution for those girls who want a bit of hair, or even get creative. *drumrolls* Enter the scripted patch! The WHAT?  Yes,  enter the scripted patch… a very thin sculpted prim, that fits the female anatomy perfectly and that though a menu gives you a number of options to dress up your pussy. No, as usual you will get no nudieshots from me, but I’ve included a texture that Portia gave me with the options. As you can see, you can go from mild to hot ‘n spicy with these.

On the photo made in Emvee Cuba, the yellow new Money Wool dress from Kyoot Army, the neclace is from Icon, the hoops are from Earthtones and the beret is not available in the shop, but was sent to me by Mavis McGettigan from Skin Flicks and I coloured it. The undies in the bodyshot are from Twosome. As usual the settings I use for skin reviews is Caliah Lyon’s windlight preset. I turn off the atmospheric sliders and use no face lamp.

If you read my personal blog as well, you may have noticed that a couple of weeks ago I wrote a piece over a flawed lace texture in an otherwise cute dress. I didn’t think it was something to share with you on Second Style, because it was mainly about customer service and not so much about the dress. This dress, on the contrary, is totally Second Stylish. I found it the other day when I returned to the Haute Couture sim for the first time in months. Forda Fairlane made it, for Haute Style & Co. and she has totally nailed it with the lace overlay on this elegant summer dress. Everyting is just right on this design, the flexi that moves really good when you walk, the prim bow and the lovely flower chest piece. With the lace texture, it is practically impossible to make a totally seamless design, but the belt does align perfectly on the front and the back texture.

The skin is Fleur Dig Ophelia 1 in buff, the necklace is the Southsea choker by Damsel, the shoes are Maitreya’s Patent Black Virtue shoes (shoe expo exclusive)  and a special thank you for Mavis McGettigan from Skinflicks for providing the RFL baldies with some of the cutest berets around! 

I see a lot of models on a daily basis. And of course, MOST of them have decent taste in fashion. I spotted this lovely flowery gown on someone, and just had to know where it came from. Sascha’s Designs she told me. I made my way over to the store. The owner, Sascha Frangilli, was there and she was she was ever so pleasant. Floored to have someone from the press in her store, she offered me a variety of amazing gowns. Apparently she is not well known, but I think that needs to be changed.

She has a very big store with a great layout. Fly is allowed, so it’s easy to navigate. Nice large ads make it easy to see the dresses she offers. Delilah, in gold, features a gorgeous satin bodice with intricate bead-work. A full organza skirt with lace details at the bottom edge make for a stunning gown.

Siddean Munro from Slink recently opened her own sim and has now tons of space to put all her colourful clothes and shoes as well as her increasing hair and skin inventory on display. Since I once told her about my boots fetish, she was kind enough to drop me her latest creations. The Paige calf and the Paige ankle boots have a plateau that I actually like. Unlike a lot of the hoochie plateaus around, these are modern and classy. The textures are beautiful, of a velvety suede and on the heel they have the cutest details. A little bow on the ankle boots, and a tiny buckle on the calf boots. The ankle boots come in 12 different colours, the calf boots in 5. Both the ankle and the calf boots sell at 300 L$ per pair and are available in convenient fatpacks as well.

I was invited to attend Sissy Pessoa’s (Baiastice) new sim opening a couple weeks back. What a fun time that was! Many gorgeous people, great music and dancing, and a gift hunt to top it all off! So, I am busy working at my other job, keeping all the models in line, when I notice a very pretty avatar. Now, it takes some nice skin to catch my eye. Everybody and their brother is wearing Redgrave these days. Don’t get me wrong! Redgrave is lovely, I own a pack myself, and I love it! This was definitely not Redgrave, but it still looked wonderful to me. So of course, I have to ask the lady where she got it. Tres Very are the words to escape her lovely, pink pixel lips. I asked her for a LM, of course! After I finish working, I take the LM and find myself in a cute tree house. I look at the skins, take a couple demos, and TP home. I try them on and find they look amazing on my shape!

About a week later, I TP back to look again, but I land in an empty lot! Oh no! I look up the creator’s profile, Verotica Lewis, and find a new LM in her profile. The new store is a lovely little sky box, paired with a piercing shop called Hepatitis C. Along with her selection of skins, is a Second Style magazine vendor! Good girl I tell her! Hehehe…

I really adore the work this creator has put into her skins. A dark freckle here and there make these skins stand out. The tint is not overly dewy, like Redgrave, but the highlighting and color are nice. I have body oil if I want to glow! The naughty bits look great too. The nipples are nicely shaped, proportioned and colored, while the girl stuff is very delicate. Even the backs of the knees look nice!

She offers 5 different shades of skin. Pale, Light, Tan, Dark, and Cocoa. In each skin pack, there are 10 different make-up styles to suit any occasion. Individual skins sell for $895 each. You can buy a set of 5 for $3500. I highly suggest you stop by and check it out!
