The Week…On Your Toes
By Graciana McMillan | December 16, 2007
What a week it has been! Technically our blog officially opened on the 4th, but we were lucky enough to become a part of the Fashion Network family this past week! I can not tell you how excited all of us at On Your Toes are! Ok, Ok, so Anessa and I are excited and Joel is wondering what he got himself into.
As you may or may not know, On Your Toes is a blog specifically designed with your pretty prim feet in mind. Writers Anessa Stine, Joel Eilde and myself will be bringing you ideas, tips, and reviews of what SL has to offer in the way of footwear.
This past week we all have been busy shoe sleuthing the grid and posted some really cute items. Starting us out, Anessa showed us the kitten heel from Slow Tempo called the Garbage Pumps. These shoes come in eight different colors and demos are available for you to try before you buy.
Next Joel, who at first balked at being the token male and has since proved he’s much more than that, gave us insight on the “must haves” for men. His pick was the Sculpted Runner from Redgrave Men’s Fashion. I have to agree with Joel on this one, this is a great look for men. They come in red, white, brown, blue, and black and ring in at L$450 apiece (L$2000 for a fat pack of all five colors). Joel even suggested for the risk takers out there to think outside the shoe box and pair these sneaks up with a suit!
The busy girl that she is, Anessa also provided us with a review of her new suede Limelights Booties from Maitreya.
These cuties are available in the suede or leather finish and in several colors. The height and wrap of the shoe around the foot are what caught Anessa’s attentions. She also personally loved the details, such as the wonderful buckles on the booties. Using these shoes as a starting point, Anessa put together the cutest outfit to go with these gems.
Now I know that you are asking yourself, now what did Graci do all week? Now that is a great question. Other than the usual this and that, I was lucky enough to visit Shiny Things and pick up the new Ribbon Boots. However, my day got even better when Fallingwater Cellardoor sent me the Chunky version as well (shown here). The Ribbon boots come with a 6 color ribbon HUD so that you can change the colors of the ribbons and have control over each boot separately. Additionally, there are 2 other ribbon HUDs available with 15 colors each to really expand your choices.
As one can come to expect from Shiny Things, the quality and design are outstanding. The boots are priced at $L500 and come with the standard 6 color HUDs. Boot colors include Black, White, Blue, and Pink. The extra ribbon color HUDs are $L100 each and demos are available.
Well that wraps us up for now! Off to shoe shop…I’m not sure if life can get any better than that! ~G
