Second Style columnist and Aspire model Isabella Sampaio is looking for “Miss SL Tropics 2007″ — a modeling contest which includes a huge collection of prizes including cash, an appearance in Second Style Magazine, a story in Aspire’s magazine, a shopping spree and much much more. The entry deadline is August 5, and you can get all of the details about how to enter by checking out Isabella’s blog post here.
Twenty finalists and two alternates will compete August 26th (This happens to be one of the days of SLCC by the way) for a panel of judges. Current Aspire models are not eligible to enter this contest. Isabella also writes: “Excessive photoshopping is *not* encouraged. We want to see the real you. Simple, stylish and elegant is your best approach!” Maybe you can be crowned Miss SL Tropics!

Will the winner be added to the Aspire! model roster?
Where do I get that dress in the ad?
A point of clarification: the winner of the Miss SL Tropics 2007 competition will *not* automatically be added to the ASpiRE! model roster but rather will earn an alternative recognition and prestige–not to mention one of the most substantive prize packages to date in any in-world competition. By comparison, ASpiRE! just completed its Model Search 2007 competition, which was won by our newest model, Delaney Renoir, after two months of intense and diligent work–fashion shows, event planning, training, advertisement creation, etc.. I’m pleased to announce that Ms. Renoir will serve as one of our esteemed judges for the event on August 26 when 20 women will compete for the title and crown. (I will also share with you that I got a sneak preview last night of the custom-designed crown that will go to our winner, designed by my good friend Zanza Marx of Belle Amie. The crown is, in a word, BREATHTAKING! Within the next several days, I will be posting a photo of this stunning never-before-seen piece on the ASpiRE! blog, so check in later this week or this weekend.
As for the dress I’m wearing in the advertisement, Tardis, this gorgeous design, the Jalestra Garden Dress, comes from House of Zen and the magic of designer Zen Deledda. I will be wearing this stunning dress for a portion of the event on the 26th. Hope to see many of you there! – Isabella Sampaio
