New Hair at LALA Moon

By Grazia Horwitz | July 12, 2007

[update GH] I just had a pleasant conversation with EnCore Mayne, following her comment on this post. Turns out I may have not been very clear, blame it on me not being a native speaker. I was not dissing Nicky, on the contrary, I enjoy looking at Nicky’s work so much, she is a wonderful designer, and I always drool all over her gowns, which in RL would make me spend a lot of money on dry cleaner bills. But the hair…. it struck me. Usually I am pretty confident in defining the creator, but this was hair I had never seen before. So I asked for a landmark, and we raced eachother to RuRu’s shop…. drooling together over the cute hair.

When Nicky Ree showed me some of her work in progress earlier today I was like… yeah… looks good… but… WHERE did you get that HAIR?

LALA_Moon.jpgTurns out is if from a small shop in the Japanese Edo sim called LALA Moon, the designer is the sweet RuRu Nagy who, when I TP’d at the shop, had just arrived as well. What a pleasant and refreshing surprise. RuRu makes wonderful hair, very wearable, and with a very authentic touch to it. Some styles are plain girly, like Curl, to the left on the photo, others are more edgy. I think my favourite is Twinkle, the one shown in brown in the middle. To the right there is Velvet Brise, which is otally cute as well. Makes me want to sign up my RL hair stylist for SL and show him some cute things. RuRu is still working on making her textures betterwill be participating in the Asian Designer fashion show that will be held in August, but if you can’t wait that long, well, she has a cute collection on display right now.

The top is from Maria Geherardi, the Analu outfit silk top in glittered silver and the skin is the freshly added Earth make up of Adam & Eve’s Grazia skin.

  2. I’ve tried the LALA Moon hair and agree that it’s cute and very wearable BUT as a never-anything-but-redhead, I found the color selection to be too limited.

  3. Hey Ceja, yes, the choice is limited, RuRu told me she is still working on her textures, to make them better and to add more colours, so keep an eye out for it.

  5. I agree with you - how about printing enlargements of the hair styles for your RL stylist?

  6. Ruru’s hair textures instantly caught my attention when I found her store in Sapporo, especially her Black texture - so much so that I had to post about it on FV, but when I’d returned to grab the SLURL for her store it had disappeared! Good thing about a day later I tracked her down, and she’d changed the name from Virgo to Lala Moon. I was happy to have her featured in the SC Fashion Show as one of our two hair designers, and think it’s great that she’s working with us in the Asian Designer Summit.

I’m waiting eagerly for her new colours/textures, and hope she’ll do more authentic modern Japanese styles for women. The Twinkle style really looks like it came out of a trendy Japanese magazine, and is my favourite, too - Danser comes in a close second.
