Natalia Basiat of De Fleur has been making some really beautiful formals, including these two examples of some of her most recent releases. On the left is a shimmery silver metallic skirt paired with a delicate and feminine lace burn out bodice named Violet and Tan, to the right is a dress Natalia named Pink Ice which repeats a lace burn-out motif in the overskirting on top of a raw silk bodice and underskirt. (I think this pink color looks divine with the new Cocoa Ton Visage skin by Portia Sin, photographed at Shiny Falls.) Also featured in the photo to the right is the incredibly detailed “Ode” jewelry creation by Random Calliope. These two dresses are among my favorite designs that De Fleur’s released so far. You can find De Fleur at PetersonIsland2 (196, 191, 25) and other locations around SL. (S: Yes, R: Yes, F: Yes)
For the next three photos, I was thrilled to have my friend Valena Glushenko photograph and model these dresses for me. The first dress is a gorgeous black lace formal by swaffette Firefly of SF Designs named “Lady Lace.” That’s precisely named — what you see is what you get a sheer lacy top paired with a satiny underskirt and more lace in the overskirting. I thought this was a really elegant design with one foot in Victoriana. Both Valena and I really admired these dresses created by Moire Georgette of Bossa Nova. To the left (to the left, to the left) is “Bem Querer” in Black and to the right “Saudade” in Brown. Like most everyone who saw the ad texture for Bem Querer, I thought Moire had designed a polka dot dress, but it’s plain to see in the photo Valena took that this dress features tiny little stars. Moire’s signature design style has always been taking retro silhouettes and updating the fabrics and some of the design sensibilities to really make each design look inspired by the classic lines of the past. A great example of this design aesthetic can be seen in Saudade, with its lace cropped shrug, the sheer solid yoke and the large cameo in the small of the throat with the straight-from-old-Hollywood dress shape and color. (Hair: Senorita by Gurl6, Shoes: Satin Pumps by Simone!) Find Bossa Nova at Dos Corazones (81, 123, 25). (S: Yes, R: Yes, F: No)

Gosh! The detail on Lady Lace is amazing
I love the red jewels against that dark background
