Cake is Good
By Justine Babii | July 22, 2007
All you need to know here is that the store is Cake. When you land, the hair you want is called Rumor.
I saw it this morning on a customer at Paper Couture who was elbowing me out of the way to see if the new stuff was in. Her gorgeous hair stopped me in my tracks and we bonded over clothes and this incredible hair she’d found at Cake. It’s possible that every path I’ve taken in my life has led me to this hair. Yes, right now I’m thinking it’s that good.
The hair is L$ 300 a color. It comes in so many colors I got dizzy after twenty and had to sit down. I think the fat pack, which I saw retails for L$3500 has close to thirty colors.
Owner and designer Stumbelina Ophelia was kind enough to send a review copy of Rumor in Taupe and in Coffee, shown here, along with her awesome shirt dress in burgundy. The shirt dress is an incredibly rich texture along with a well made prim collar, cuffs, and tiny skirt section. The set also includes a checked belt, not shown in the photo.

When you land you’ll see several great looking hairs, a couple of which you’ll be seeing here on me sooner or later, but for now i’m not taking off Rumor.
(Take a walk around the aisle at Cake, and take a look at the Pop Flexi, Bezel and Modern Art jewelry. I went back to the store and bought them after the picture, check here to see them in the near future.)

That’s the hair I was wearing too when we met at the Redgrave fashion show.
I can say it really is beautiful and looks good for men as well.
Check my post to see how the Rumor hair fits to men.

Posted by: Samantha Chandler on July 22nd, 2007 at 1:08 pmWhoops, stupid question. I see it in the description. :)
Posted by: Samantha Chandler on July 22nd, 2007 at 1:11 pmI’ve been rockin’ Rumor in black for a couple weeks now but I think I’ve got to go back for more colors, specifically that Coffee shade, dammit! ;-)

Posted by: Mean Business » Deux Looks on July 25th, 2007 at 2:21 pmSkin by Ayiki Takakura huh? I recognize my makeup. That seems to be one of my “Muted Mid Lip” series. I was trying to figure out whether the collar bone had been altered in Photoshop or if it was a hacked skin, when I noticed that I was not listed as the creator.
I went to her store to investigate, and found no skins for sale, however there is a sculpted head wearing a head map that uses part of my vogue skin. Namely my forehead, eyes, eyebrows, and nose bridge but the lips/nostrils/ears are from some other skin.
I took this picture to compare:

Looks like I need to have a little chat with Ayiki before she does start selling them. May I ask where you got YOURS, Justine?
Posted by: Starley on July 26th, 2007 at 10:35 amThat’s funny that you mention it, I actually didn’t even notice the skin credit on this blog post when I first read it. I thought it was your skin.
The eyes and eyebrows especially.
