Aradia Dielli

Update: So having read all the comments I did make a mistake and I’m going to fix it right now. I’m going to leave Quinlan’s photo posted here, but we’ll just vote on the top three photos: Aradia’s, London’s and Dorra’s. If you already voted, please vote again. (NOTE: To vote again, you may need to clear the cookies from your browser. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

Thanks for your feedback and participation, and I apologize for my lapse in judgment.

Hey, only 2 days late picking our finalists. I chose four again, because I just couldn’t resist adding a fantastic photo with a perfect 5 star score. So here are our finalists:

Aradia Dielli

London Spengler

Dorra Debs

Voting goes from now until Friday, June 22, 2007 at 11:59 pm SLT. Our top finalist will win L$250 in cash, the right to name the next fashion challenge theme and a gift card from the wonderful Catwalk City Shopping Mall.

Are you excited about the takeover of OnRez and Xstreet?

Here’s Quinlan’s fantastic photo… nice work.

While I love the pic that Quinlan posted to add it to the finals seems a bit unfair to me. You changed the rules on how finalists would be chosen and posted them in the contest announcement. Its your contest so you can do what you want, but imo this blog is losing credibility by not keeping to the posted rules. Maybe next time just pick the ones you like and dont even bother with ratings… I won’t be entering again.

B E A UUUTIFUL!

[...] tired and a bit dishearted to give them a try. Luckily Second Style comed to the rescue with their Fashion Challenge #5 and, guess who is one of the finalists? Yes! yours truly [...]

I usually don’t like people changing rules but all the more voted where selected, and the picture is worthy, even if it arrived too late to get enough votes. Rules are rules, but I whould like to win cleanly… not that I am going to do with all this competence .-p

I talked about it in my post and whould had left it here, if it weren’t for the firs, anonimous comment; it makes all of us look “guilty” (as if defending before being accused didn’t made me look like that *sigh*).

I entered this contest and, suddenly, I’m glad I didn’t make it to the finals. I would have been very surprised to see that the rules changed midstream somehow.

I’m now wondering if I should enter any of the other contests that this website has, will they change their rules at the last minute too?

One of the reasons for having rules in the first place, is so that people know what they’re getting into when they start something.

In my opinion, adding Quinian’s picture is unfair. Her picture is nice, but if it didn’t meet the original requirements for making it into the finals, then it shouldn’t have been added at all. :/

One more thing… by mentioning Quinian’s picture on the top, it is possible that you’re biasing the vote because you are, yourself, praising it. What do you think is on people’s minds when they vote?

P.S. I’m not saying this because I didn’t make it into the finals, or because my partner, London, is not in first place. It just doesn’t seem fair to change the rules at the end simply because you feel like it.

Thanks for chosing me as one of the 5 lucky ladies. Good luck, must be tough to pick just 5, the pictures were all beautiful.

Hello! Thank you for choosing my snapshot for the final round, I’m quite flattered.

However, I do have a suggestion regarding the vote count for future Fashion Challenges. I was rather confused about the original contest rules — at first I thought the TOTAL points would be taken (e.g. an average of 3.5 stars x 10 votes = 35 points). I later realized that the total number of votes would be taken. Until my snapshot was included as the fourth finalist, I had thought that I was #2 according to Snapzilla’s “total rating” sorting.

I’m sincerely sorry that Anon feels like the votes have been toyed with. I understand it must be very difficult to come up with a fair voting system. For future contests, may I suggest using “average rating x number of votes” for counting points? This would eliminate certain biases: legitimate voters could vote for multiple entries, and the “1-star” vote gamers can’t mess with the system because their votes would still count.

Sorry for the long post, but I don’t want anyone to feel like they’ve been treated unfairly! Again, thanks for picking my snapshot for the final round, and kudos to all the other fantastic submissions!

Yeah! I made finals! Booooo! I’m in last place…lol. GL everyone :)

K, fairies are nice..I guess they fit everyone’s idea of high fantasy..but I was expecting something a little more unique! I think the mars one was very cool (I didn’t yet get a chance to look at all of the entries though) cause it was something you don’t see every day and it had actually an element of fashion in it..to me most of the entries kind of look more like costumes than fashion designs. Maybe u should call it “costume challenge” hehe..

I had my little one help me vote on the four you had listed and when questioning her on why she chose Quinlan’s photo, she said because she looks like a real fairy hovering over the water and dipping her foot in, and the others look like they are wearing costumes and posing for a picture. She is 9 and quite the little artist.
Anyway, the voting system does seem flawed to me because any of the entrants can have their friends come and vote for them making it more of a popularity contest rather than merit…maybe you and your staff should be the judges Celebrity.

Although I agree that the rules should remain in place, I’m disappointed that Quinlan’s picture was taken out of the running, it’s a lovely shot and does deserve to compete on that merit. That said, congratulations to everyone who made it to the finals :)

[...] a miracle happens, it is clear that Aradia Dielli (see the picture below) is going to win the #5 Second Style Fashion Challenge. I still think Quinlan Quimby is the moral winner, but at least I hoped that I whould win with her [...]

Wow, thank you so much! It’s an honor and I can’t wait to see the pictures for the next challenge. I already have a theme in mind!

Congrats to the other ladies, you all looked beautiful as well.

xoxo

*smiles* Congratulations, Aradia :-)
