Lacoste Contest Winners: Congratulations!!!

Lacoste ran a fabulous contest for 6 models to feature in a fashion shoot. The winners have been picked:
Haver Cole, Sofia Gray and Chacelie Carter for the girls, and Phli Foxchase, Takeshi Kiama and DayDreamer Langway for the boys! Congratulations all of you… awesome job. Can’t wait to see the photos that will be published on Lacoste.com
The lucky winners will share L$ 1 million as a reward for the modelling shoot and granting rights to Lacoste to use the photos. Not bad huh?

The photoshoot was fabulous! I cant give away too many details, but they look like they are going to do great on the website! :D

First : Pre-select was indeed a joke made withous sense.
Second : dont take offense about this but sofia is cute, but thats all, absolutly not the first choice of alot of people, Lacoste lose is head this time. Same for Haver Cole, awfull pictures and avatar, well… basic.
For the boys, only This Phli Foxchase is decent.
Too bad Lacoste.

Lacoste contest rules states very clear that the jury would be considering some specific criteria and I quote: “The judges will make their decision according to but not limited to the following criteria:
- the aesthetic quality of the avatar
- the graphic quality of the avatar (quality of the face and figure, quality of the make-up, of the hair style, etc.),
- the quality of the light and the background of - the photos
- the attitude
The internet users will also be asked when voting to take into account the same criteria for making their choice”.
The latter advice obviously not being read by a lot of internet voters hahahaha.
And after all… it was a casting kind of contest. You can’t look in a marketeer’s or a casting director’s head when he/she is looking for that certain look.
It is but a game, and these people where Lacoste’s choice. People who can’t deal with rejection, shouldn’t have participated in the fist place.
Posted by: Grazia Horwitz on May 17th, 2007 at 12:39 amAnnya, I disagree about your choice of avs. For one Daydreamer and Takeshi are both model quality male avs, I’m not sure if you’ve seen them up close in-world but I have. Haver has a very realistic avatar, certainly not your average big-boobed wasp-waisted Barbie blonde or your usual artificially-tanned busty brunette that’s so common in-game, so I think it’s great she won. I was surprised that Colleen Desmoulins didn’t make the cut, she had great photos. Or Aradia Dielli, who has a good avatar.
I do agree that the first round did turn me off from participating (I don’t think gathering votes from site visitors is a reliable way of finding out who has a high-quality av) but it’s done for a lot of RL competitions. Oh well.

The competition was pretty stiff in the Top 100, and there were some excellent contenders who didnt make it from the original 568, and I think it’s pretty amazing to be chosen from ~600 or even just the top 100, for those who would like to ignore Round 1.
I know a lot of people werent happy with how Round 1 was carried out, but if there is one valuable lesson that a good friend taught me doing this competition it’s that:
“If you want to win, you’ve got to play the game.”
Instead of complaining about it becoming a popularity contest, people could have been out there getting votes like those who made it to the Top 100.
