Updated: One Stop Shop at Adam ‘n Eve’s

By Grazia Horwitz | April 30, 2007

Update [CT]: I’ve added (NSFW) photos of sachi’s new skins below the cut. (And Grazia remains a big chicken! :D)

Sachi_lashes.jpgI love it how you plan on doing something, and then something else happens that turns around your schedule completely and you end up having such a good time. It happened to me again yesterday when I planned a quiet afternoon of going through my review folder and trying on some of the new things in there, when I got an IM from Sachi Vixen, the multi talented designer from Adam ‘n Eve. She asked if she could have my opinion on her new prim lashes, which after trying, I gladly gave. Sachi has made easy adjustable, great looking lashes, in a lot of different versions. And what makes hers so unique is that she has made blacks as well as tintables for all of them.. so if you think brown is your new black… well, now you can make them brown… or green.. or purple.. whatever suits you. I have not seen tintables before, so I think this is really a great find. The skin in this photo is Adam ‘n Eve’s Pandora in tone 3, make up 8 and the hair is Armidi’s Law in black I

Saci_legs_feet.jpgWhile talking to Sachi, she TP-d me over to her shop, where you can find practically everything for your avatar… shapes, hair, clothes and oooh… skins. Wonderfully crafted, beautifully make up’d skins. Now, honestly, I had to tweak my shape a wee bit to look great in these skins, as my mouth didn’t match the skin’s exactly, but I think it was worth the effort as you can see in the photo above, wich is me wearing Pandora. Sachi, together with her business partner Damen Gorilla, is one of the sought after avatar creators for people who have to make an appearance in SL looking like their RL self. If not the lashes lure you to Adam ‘n Eve.. well.. let the skins do. Sachi has recently done a new version of her very own skin, Pandora, and it is of a flawless perfection… even the feet, usually a nightmare in SL look pretty good.

Sachi_Ivory.jpgWhile talking skins and trying out the new poses and animations that Damen has made (I’ll be using them in a next post so that you can see them… for the gowns that are to follow they were not the best… Damen’s poses are better for more casual wear right now) my eye caught a wonderful gown that has a strong historical touch to it. It’s called Refined, I have it on in Ivory here, and it is truly an adorable gown with a distinct regal touch to it. I remember having seen an old photo of empress Elizabeth (Sissy) wearing a similar gown, or rather some photos that all have clothing elements that you’ll find in this particular one. The version Sachi made for SL comes with 2 skirts, a sleek one and a full gown and 3 different flexi bustles. The skin is Pandora, tone 3, make up 8 and the hair is ETD’s Janae in chestnut.

Sachi_Pink.jpgSo, one gown triggers the other, and before I knew it I was in this beautifully textured pink gown. It is so rich, so luscious that you really don’t need any jewelry to match it, but I think Caliah Lyon’s pearls do make a perfect unity with it. The design is simple, but it really doesn’t need any more details The heart shaped bodice and a very naturally flowing full prim skirt on a long tube skirt layer are all there is to it. Because the prims are attached quite high on your body, they blend perfectly with the mesh skirt and it doesn’t make your bum look fat, which usually is the case with system skirts. By the way, should you try one of Pandora’s demos, do take a close look at your tush as well, there is a wonderful shading to it that makes it perfectly round. ETD’s Chalissa II in Chestnut matches perfectly the red head version of Sachi’s Eve in skintone 3 Red-Earth for the pretty in pink effect.

Sachi__kismeth.jpgKismeth is another gown that we have been trying on yesterday. It has been out for a bit, all the gowns have been really, and I can’t believe no one posted these releases on the blogs before. They are all of outstanding quality. Kismeth is yet another awesomely textured gown, based on a piece of lace that Sachi has and she made the texture from that. I love the little green sparkles in the silver sequined bodice, it makes the texture so vibrant. I pair it with Miriel’s exquisite May necklace and studs. They are of the same high quality of the gown, yet modest enough to not over do the total look. The hair in this photo is Calla’s Fennel that was released for Hair Fair. The skin is Eve in skintone 2, Dark-Diva.

Ok… that’s it.. I could go on for hours, because there is just so much to see at Adam ‘n Eve that is totally blogworthy, and I haven’t talked about the hair, the shapes, the costumes that are lovely…. but for now, if you are curious, just go and see for yourself and pick out the ones you like best. I think I spent about 3 hours there yesterday. Time well spend and boy does it fly when you are having fun.

The poses I used in this post are Luth Brodie’s new poses High Fashion which really are awesome fashion poses. Some of which I’d love to see in an AO version too

Update [CT] Here are the skin photos:

eve_redhead_1.jpgLast week I alluded to the new Eve skins by sachi which she passed me a couple of copies to check out and wear around. Here’s a full on frontal shot of what the skin looks like. Comparing Eve to the other skins by sachi I have shows refinement and mastery over many elements of skin creation in Second Life. Watching sachi hone her skills in this area over the past year and change has been really fascinating. The joint shading is amazing, and the way sachi models the skeletal structure under the skin is really quite remarkable. I absolutely love the tummy on this skin — it’s athletic and pretty but not “crunch queen” abs of steel. Other remarkable little touches include rework around the bits and bum and the feet and elbows are especially well articulated.

pandora_2_1.jpgThis is “Pandora II”, a beautiful revision of the Pandora skin which I reviewed originally in this post here in September of 2006. So what’s new here? Sorry — no “original vs. new” montage here, but much has been improved. In particular, sachi reworked the bum on this skin — it’s bubble butt perfect looking — just in time for all those bikinis now that spring seems to have finally sprung. Obviously the front of the skin looks quite a bit different as well — incorporating many of the revisions that were made for the Eve skins.

elizabeth_1.jpgThen comes the “Elizabeth” set. sachi has been creating and releasing some “focused” makeup sets like Elizabeth here, which come in only three skin tones and sport a comprehensive set of makeup looks for the entire skin tone. Also drawing heavily on the overall Eve body shadings (obviously — look at the similarities), these sets will allow sachi to explore a provide a lot of different potential makeup options while trying to keep them cohesively thematic.

  7. I’m new in SL and just wanted to say that this reviews are a godsend! I just couldn’t help buying both Eve and Pandora :). The makeups are also a must in A&E… Initially the Eve tone 3 seemed a bit too dark for me - having been used to a Vogue tone 1 - but after a while that sensation disappears, it’s a wonderful colour. Pandora tone 2 has a different feel to it, a different skin hue, and is also amazing.
