Bump: Virtual Angels — Get Involved

Bump [CT]: Couple of Virtual Angels charity events going on today. First, as Grazia noted, today, March 10th is the last day for the L$100 yard sale on Useful Technology sim. I loaded up on hair by Calico there, but there’s really an amazing line up of good things!
Second, Myth Casino and Poker House will be holding a card tournament to benefit Ayeshe starting tonight at 5pm SLT. (This is a good deal — you go to the fashion show, send your boy to the card game so he can pay for your shopping spree later on! Win-win.) The buy in for the tournament is L$2750, which includes a L$250 fee to Virtual Angels. If all the buy-in seats sell, the winner of the tournament will get a L$75,000 payout. The casino is at MythLand (246, 118).
[03/04/07 Update GH] As you can read in the interview with Simone that was posted on Linden Lifestyles yesterday, the Virtual Angels yard sale on Useful Technology sim will last till March 10, so a week longer than originally planned!
What started out as an occasional fund raising action upon Simone Stern’s initiative, to enable designer Ayeshe Millions to get the medical treatment she really needs (Ayeshe’s Angels), is now getting a more permanent character with the establishment of Virtual Angels, Second Life’s first real charity network. Although currently still aiming at getting a cure for Ayeshe, in the future other community members who need it will be able to benefit from it too.
Simone told me that she has been talking to RL charity platforms and that those have been very kind in helping structuring the Virtual Angels by offering heir advice and RL experience. And that she’s currently researching how to give Virtual Angels a legal status. However, I think that an initiative like this should be getting more attention all over SL.
So I would like to make an appeal on all of you to get involved in making Virtual Angels a truly unique SL charity network. If you create content, ask Simone how you can contribute… when you have a club… consider putting out a Virtual Angels donation kiosk so that your visitors can donate… if you like organising events… think about how good it would make you feel to contribute in that way to fellow residents health and well being and, when you are a mere consumer just like me, visit the special yardsale with tons of awesome Simone! designs, Calico Creations hair, Ayeshe Million’s skins, shoes and furniture for just L$ 100! Spend some Linden Dollars for a good cause and look stunning in the process. Oh and btw.. I was there again tonight… the sim was packed.. but I hardly had any lag… now how’s that?
I have to express my gratitude to the ever fashionable, kind and graceful Swirley Cyclone for blogging this yardsale on Fashion Victim, or I would probably have not known about it. The sale is going on in the Useful Technology sim that was generously donated for the purpose and is ending on March 3.

I’ve noticed that in the newest sims, performance it better and sim crossings are much smoother. All the displays are well spaced out as well, that might have also have helped.
I heard about the yard sale from Swirley too (she was actually there when I was, but I was much too star-struck to speak). That is simply wonderful that Virtual Angels may become a permanent SL charity.
