Ooh la la burlesque!

By Celebrity Trollop | March 2, 2007

Snapshot_009.jpgAs I mentioned the other day, I really couldn’t decide which of the five La Burlesque releases to post pictures. I just decided to heck with it — I’m going to post them all. I have some that like a little more than others — like Amethyst shown to the left, but overall, all of them are fantastic.

One especially cool bit about each of these releases is that they are currently sold boxed as a complete outfit at the Rainforest Fashion Show venue. As of next week, they’ll only be available ala carte — great for mix ‘n’ match — but maybe a pain to reassemble into the discrete outfits Alaska’s put together. Each boxed outfit also includes a matching pair of Fetisheels shoes — these are platform stilettos with a really high platform with a built in complete AO that includes five post stands, a very slinky walk animation and a sultry sit. You can see a few of the included poses in these photos.

Snapshot_007.jpgSnapshot_010.jpgProbably my overall favorite thing about this entire collection is the sequin texturing — seen for example on Amethyst, Ruby (shown to the left) and Diamond (shown right of Ruby). It’s just so fabulously sparkly and over the top glamorous. Both Ruby and Diamond also sport some outrageously daring prim tassle pasties too — I didn’t have time to adjust them “just so” so I used the included non-prim pasties (on the underwear layer) instead. If your intent to showcase your sexiest skin — these outfits are the perfect foil for that purpose.

Snapshot_008.jpgNext I’d like to talk about the incredible straight-from-a-40s-pinup lingerie set Ruffle and Ribbon. I don’t know what magic voodoo Alaska used in Photoshop to make the textures look like this, but the shading and ruffles on the the garter, panties and corset are just incredible. Accented with tiny flexiprim ribbons on the garter tabs as well as the corset front and back. If you love retro looks — this is your dream lingerie set.

Snapshot_006.jpgBlack Fringe is the final release (so far) in the La Burlesque line. (I hope there are more to come!) This little number is a miracle of flexiprims. When I saw this outfit on the catwalk I couldn’t get over how perfectly Alaska had tweaked the physics on the prims to give them just the right jingle-jangle when walking. It just looks amazing — especially with the built in walk on the (currently included) lace up thigh high latex boots. There are flexi-fringe accents on the top of the gloves, on the bottom of the bra, and the top of the panty waistband.

Alaska once told me that she didn’t feel very comfortable making super sexy clothes — it’s just not her style. Even so — this is a masterful collection that squeezes every ounce from Second Life to give exactly the kind of visual impact that Alaska was shooting for.

At the moment, you can only buy the La Burlesque outfits as shown from vendors at the Rainforest Fashion Venue (The Rainforest 242, 106, 296) but next week they’ll be available at OPIUM Addictive Fashion in Celerio (42, 150, 46) Update: Looks like the vendors at the Rainforest are gone, too. I sent Alaska an IM about it. Until then, you’ll have to wait, I guess. Sorry!
