Amazing Flexi Hair by Analog Dog
By Celebrity Trollop | March 28, 2007
Last week I saw a fantastic post about some new hair designs by Queue Marlowe of Analog Dog on the Aspire blog written by Isabella Lazarno. She had photos posted of several of the different styles available and I just flipped. As soon as I could I headed over to buy three of them — two in dark, one in light, and I have to say they are probably the most technically ambitious flexi hair construction I’ve seen in world. Normally I wear blonde and red hair textures, but my favorite texture of the ones Queue’s working with is a deliciously auburn streaked brunette called Brown Sugar. But even though I found the light pack to be a touch on the brassy side — it looked incredible on model Cindy Crimson.
My favorite designs are the C curl, N curl and Soma. But all of the designs are so impressive — depending on your own personal taste and style any of them will be sure to impress as your avatar makes her way sexywalking around the grid, nodding as she types. I was so totally impressed by the way these hairs move that I decided that static pictures wouldn’t really do full justice — I wanted to shoot a machinima. And with the help of Isabella Sampaio and Cindy Crimson, here is the result.
I realized that shooting a good machinima is really really difficult and takes a lot of time. Just transcoding Fraps to an iMovie compatible AVI format took over 8 hours. (OK, so it was 3.5GB of raw video footage, but still!) I also owe a huge thank you to Queue Marlowe who really jump started the whole project by generously supplying copies for myself and my models to use while we were shooting.
Shop Analog Dog at Pomponio 241, 210, 56. Seriously, these hairs are like chips (for my UK peeps: crisps); you can’t buy just one.

I saw Isabella’s post as well and was intriqued. I took a trip over but there does not seem to be demos available…or I might be blind. Like skins, hair can change an avie in a heartbeat, so I am in a must-have-demo kinda mood these days. Or I am observant enough to know that these may not look quite as delish on me as they did on Isabella or the models in your film here :-)

Posted by: Grazia Horwitz on March 29th, 2007 at 12:17 amI love these! I was wearing the C Curl a few days ago and got tons of compliments. However - I didn’t see demos either, which kept me from buying some of the styles I wanted. Ah well, they’re still lovely. :)
Posted by: Jaydei Benmergui on March 29th, 2007 at 12:36 amI agree that demos are quite necessary. Hair can look so different, depending on what your face looks like.
Also the no copy/trans setting scares me: I’ve had some computer glitches in the past while I was resizing hair, and the result wasn’t pretty :-D
The hair looks gorgeous… but I’d still want to try it on first.
Posted by: Raindrop Drinkwater on March 29th, 2007 at 2:18 amGreat job, girls :) Really shows the way Queue’s hair moves!
This hair is wonderful, and Queue’s so very helpful with customer service.
Reminds me I haven’t worn it for a bit… runs to put it on :D
Posted by: Ally Geer on March 29th, 2007 at 6:28 amThat’s so…timely. I was just going to send you a LM for that place. I went crazy there the other day. :)

Great movie! I think these are all the rage right now, Im not real sure how I feel about them for my avie, but they certainetly look cute on others. Kudos to the creator! I agree, a demo is helpful :)
Posted by: Astry on March 29th, 2007 at 7:25 amI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hair !!! Great job on the machinima, its awesome and does show how well the hair moves !!
Posted by: Isabella Lazarno on March 29th, 2007 at 9:41 amI’m waiting for the hair fair to stock up on hair, but if I have any moola left over, I’m so buying all of these!
Posted by: Kalia Meiklejohn on March 29th, 2007 at 9:55 amI wear those all the time. There my favourite brand. So realistic and fluffy. And moddable! What I like to do personnaly is put 5% alpha in them. What I regret is buying the Dark color pack instead of taking Blond and color modding them (did’nt knew they were moddable at that time). But I’ll buy more ;) I usually wear c curl, there my fav.

Posted by: CodeBastard Redgrave on March 29th, 2007 at 10:46 amLet me say that this is my new stop for my fem makeover clients. I asked Celebrity about her hair one day, and we ended up doing this shoot, and I ended up Loving the hair.
I agree with all comments re demos tho. IMHO everything sold on SL should have a demo :) (This would make shoe shopping cheaper).
Posted by: Cindy Crimson on March 29th, 2007 at 11:53 amI have to agree about the demo and permissions issues. I am at the store right now ready to SPEND! A lot of my hair is from Cake!, so I’m used to paying over 300L for just one color, so the 500L a pack price point isn’t a problem at all. But I need to see how the bangs (fringe to you in the UK) frame my face. I also have to make sure the that it fits. There are too many prims in this hair to have to adjust it prim by prim. I’ve done that before with hair that I really loved when just stretching and shrinking wasn’t enough. I have to have copy on hair that I buy for doing that kind of editing. If I can see a demo, even though I can’t mod it, I can get an idea of how much adjustment is needed.
I’d also love single colors available too. I usually buy hair in 4 colors, an ivory, a blonde, a light brown and a black. With that selection I can make any color that I want. I don’t need a special pack made for me. I’d just love to be able to buy those four colors for a higher price rather than having to spend 2000L to get them from buying 4 multipacks.
So, to sum up. Many of us, seem to want demos, and different permissions. I add to that single color selection.
I’m at the store as I write this and it’s so tempting to just spend the 500 on one style just to see, but I’ve been burned before. I guess I could justify this by being able to give the hair away to friends if it doesn’t work for me… but I’m going to have to skip this hair for now as much as I don’t want to.
Posted by: Smoke Signals on March 30th, 2007 at 3:49 amThis is some of the best hair in SL and the creator, Queue Marlowe, is one of the nicest people I’ve met.
Don’t worry about the mods/properties, if you accidently delete the hair or mess it up adjusting it, Queue will definitely replace it for you. She has personally sized many styles for me, and always returns them fitting my avi perfectly, just like a great hairdresser. And even though I know she is very busy these days as her business has grown, she is always there to help me and answer my questions.
I highly recommend buying any of the styles available at Analog Dog, at only $350L stressing over the properties and details, or comparing her to others in SL seems silly.
Just go! You will get so many compliments on this hair, you won’t belive it!
