A Seven Year Itch
By Celebrity Trollop | February 21, 2007
I seem to be spending a lot of time talking about Norwegians on this blog! I just wrote about countryman Max Milosz’s just-completed custom project, and now I wanted to show off Neferia Abel’s new Marilyn Monroe inspired Travilla dress.
It’s composed of a system skirt, so even if you stand on a subway grate, the skirt won’t embarrassingly fly up around your waist — but regardless of whether it’d be suitable for machinima re-creations of classic films, it’s definitely an eye catching reproduction. This dress — like the original that inspired it — screams starlet, and with the plunging neckline and the beautiful shading of the ruching and pleats, definitely distinctive.
Let me also give a preliminary “Brava!” to a brand new skinner, Lovey Darling. (Sorry — I don’t know if she’s also Norwegian! :D) I only had the pleasure of meeting Lovey for a handful of minutes, but she’s just released 8 new skins in 5 different skin tones. The best feature about Lovey’s skins is definitely the lips — they’re super pouty and vividly colored. The body shading is also very good — I will be posting a more complete review of the skins as soon as I get more time in world to take the photos. In the meantime, her skins are extremely affordable (L$800/single, pack of 4 for L$2400), well worth trying on a demo at least. (You can find the landmark for her store, Lovey’s Boutique, by looking at her profile picks.) I will say that I am in love with how well the mulberry makeup and the TaP “claret” prim nails color match each other — it’s almost uncanny.
Seen in world: Yes
Review copies: Yes
Friends list: No
In this photo: skin: Mulberry (chai skintone) by Lovey Darling, Lovey’s Boutique; hair: Annie (light blonde) by Six Kennedy, Girl6; prim lashes: Vogue by Starley Thereian, Celestial Studios; jewelry: Trieste by Caliah Lyon, Muse; dress: Travilla by Neferia Abel, Ivalde; on location: Bartlett House, Elysian

I just rushed over to look at the new skins… I’ve been in a skin mood.
First, the price seems to have changed since the review - they are now 900$L for a single. I also realized the skins are “no copy” (unlike most skins) and “no mod” (unlike the demo versions of the skins.

However, what I really wanted to say is that Neferia has this thing lately for “famous dresses” you should go and see the dress Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and knowing Neferia a bit by now.. there will be much more to follow.
