New Designer: Blooberry

By Celebrity Trollop | January 6, 2007

Snapshot_001.jpgSnapshot_005.jpgA few days ago I happened to run into Torrid Midnight shopping at MAIA and we were chatting about up and coming designers. As it turns out, Torrid had just shopped Julliette Westerburg’s new store Tres Bleh. Tres Bleh has a really awesome hand drawn Nylon-ish style, definitely worth a visit if you really enjoy that kind of style in your wardrobe. As we exchanged suggestions for new designers, Blooberry came up. I’d seen some items by Raskella Canadeo on SL Boutique and the name stuck out as something to investigate further. The tip from Torrid was just the final motivation to really check things out in depth.

Shown in the left picture is Raskella’s outfit “Donna” in tan/brown. It comes in three other combinations as well: red/black, complimentary blues, and a really pretty pink/grey. Raskella has created a number of things in Second Life — not just fashion. She told me when she gets bored or frustrated with some clothing item she’s perfecting, she likes to take some time to sling prims creating prefab houses, furniture and shoes.

To the right of Donna is one of my favorite mix-n-match denim and top combinations I put together with items from Blooberry. Raskella’s partner in RL and in SL is RFD Standish — and he’s developed several great looking denim items — I know, I know — you need another pair of jeans like a fish needs a bicycle, but trust me on this! Just check them out. I am in love with the flower belt buckle and when it’s paired up with the floral print top, it’s such a compelling cute casual look.

Snapshot_004.jpgSnapshot_003.jpgMy final outfit is RFD’s white denim jeans tied with leather thongs, paired up with the turquoise floral tube top. But there’s more to Blooberry than just casual, as great as it is. Raskella’s also created a really beautifully textured LBD/gown set named Mandylion. Mandylion features high contrast white piping on the bust and the fabric texture has a very rich velvety look to it. Find Blooberry’s main store in Miniard 92, 205, 45, although they have outlets all over SL.
