If you’re not already in the Christmas shopping spirit, the holiday display at Innovations should help get you there. In a walled-off area in the center of the shop stands a huge Christmas tree around which Sherona DeGroot has several lovely gowns and capes on display.
Each creation is offered in red, green and white, and the one that caught my eye is appropriately labeled “Joy.” I love the plush fabric and the way Sherona has managed to pull together a formal and very modern look that’s more classy than frilly. The black belt with its big, bold, gold buckle helps to carry that off. I could easily see myself standing at the door of my home and greeting my guests in this sleek, sexy number. Who says you can’t be both naughty and nice when Christmas rolls around?!

While we’re talking about Innovations, I want to mention a promising new designer, Isabella Maginot, who I met at the shop. Isabella has several gowns and garters in the romantic style prominently on display in the shop. Keep your eyes on this one.
