Diversity in Second Life

8

diversity_003.jpgAccording to the Second Life website as per today we have way over 2,2 million residents. Non of them look alike… well.. maybe the first hour in world or so and the occasional twins that really choose to be eachothers clone. I think that the possibility to personalize your looks in Second Life is one of the biggest attractions of the game, and ofcourse a major pillar in the local economy. Next to that it is just entertaining to wander in Second Life looking for the perfect items that match your personality, whether that one is close to your first life you or a totally different character that you have adopted in Second Life.

diversity_007.jpgSpeaking of diversity…. Aleri Darkes from Diversity Hair has understood so well our need to stand out and distinguish. In the building that she shares with her SL sister and my fellow blogger Digit, she has a vaste range of different hairstyles on display, from which it may be difficult to choose. Female and male hair.  Recently she has released several new hairdo’s as well as redone a lot of her textures.  The result is fabulous. Her hair goes from super classy to mega sassy and from conservative to ultra modern….. Or, as Aleri puts it, it’s “Modern, sexy, and sophisticated. And of course Diverse”.

diversity_009.jpgAleri has been learning a lot lately about new techniques and creating textures, hence she has moved pretty much of her older hairdo’s to the discount section of her shop where these still gorgeous styles can be purchased in total fatpacks for a real smart price….And that is, after all in a month like December and the holidays’ aftermath of January, not bad. Not bad at all….. As for the new hair….it’s delicious. In the pictures I show you the curly Starlet in auburn, the classy Prissy updo in yummy butterscotch and the playful girly Brat in black purple.

Diversity Hair is located in Dacham (14, 136, 401)

I guess she’d be a little more diverse if she actually made her own hairstyles instead of copying off of Elikapeka Tiramisu of ETD. Please stop blogging your friends for the sake of blogging them, it just as unprofessional as her thinking it’s okay to copy off of every other designer on the grid.

Hair is hair, and hairstyles are hair styles. There can be two Salons and two Hair dresses who are both talented at making hair. Im a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of ETD and she does currently own the crown of hair making, but that shouldnt exclude sprouting new designers like these delicious ones featured on this blog!

as far as i know there is no copyright on a hairstyle. if there was i was rich by sueing all the superstars wearing their hair like me rofl.
since people have to use the same prims in sl sure things may look alike. its all in the building skill in the end, about making it look right when its on the head. and the textures of course.

I don’t see anything in this post that looks like ETD hair. I do see that designs can look similar because the designers are mimicking RL hair styles.

Designers deserve to be blogged whether they are a friend of the blogger or not

Just my opinion

BULLSHIT !! for a start as a hair addict I know my hair in and out all of the designers that i Have folders of their hair in my inventory are all categorised and I often know the name and designer just by looking at hair, whoever says DIversity is like ETD is kidding themselves, I dare you to point out any styles that are the same ‘identical’ styles…as for the other comments EXACTLY!! there are so many designers out there and working for a clothing one like i do most of you know for a start they never bloody get out of their own stores to even know what anyone else is in fact doing..you should be ashamed of yourself for insinuatiing and also, if Elika has a concern its is up to ‘Her’ not you to take it up with another designer …pfft and i bet you have never gone into a hair dressers in your life pointed to a pic in a mag and said i want to look like that , you probably still have ‘the Racheal’ Harsh yeah Hell yeah im pissed off , and as for blogging friends or stuff what the hell are we here for if not to support each other it takes more than just paying out L’s to make a designer feel appreciated

finishes rant and apologises for steaming but dammit im angry ..goes to meditate or throw something

ummm yeah whatever. That is the dumbest BS I have ever read on a blog. Aleri has great hair and she does not copy off of Elika. If you cannot tell the difference in hair made by different designers that is just sad. I can look at someones hair on sl and tell them where it came from. Also, as Sasy said these hairstyles are mostly modeled after rl so there are only so many you can do. Quit being petty, jealous and ignorant and learn to make something yourself instead of hating on people who can. You really need to find something better to do with your time and quit stalking Aleri because you are jealous.

The designer should be given Props for what she did. Period. ETD doesn’t have a TM on hair. so if it does look similar, it just does. remember we all have to use the same building tools. Also the designer should be given props for her job. Do you have and Idea how long it takes to make hair?to get it just right?Shoot i’m still trying to get Prim hair down and have yet to make one look good. and the third and final thing is. I think its a plus to put new designers out there, Like myself. Its hard enough as it is with Groupies like you always saying we(new designers) copy off the Top charters. I really don’t have the time to copy off anybody. I’m trying to get my shop out there. And for the Featured designer on this blog I’ll try to find time To check out your Items : ) Keep up the good work…..and haters, stop Hating

Only white people exist in Second Life. I think they killed off the black people completely. There could be a secret Auschwitz going on. I haven’t done a search yet but I’m suspecting a concentration camp sim somewhere. Say no to Nazi Second Lifers.
