Use your Illusion

Janie Marlowe and Ariel Black have been tearing it up over on Illusion island. Within the past week Janie’s released almost 20 new items, and Ariel’s released 10 all by herself! I finally made it over to Illusion and — as usual — had a little bit of a shopping accident (D’oh!) These were my favorite items from all of those recent releases. Ever since I started wearing Mischief’s “Evelyn” business pant suit, I’ve been in love with Janie’s “executive” line of clothing. Now, technically the dress pictured left isn’t in that line, but it *could* be. It’s cute and sporty, has a touch of the southwest with the awesome concho studded belt.
Next is a ultra flirty micromini pleated skirt named (hehe) “Jailbait.” It’s got one part naughty school girl and one part preppy good girl going for it. The tension between those extremes is a lot of fun. Check out the handcuff linked belt and the black semi-sheer oxford with some amazing collar shading work. If this one is too modest — there’s plenty more clubwear to pick from (almost 10 brand new designs!)
To the left is a tiered pleated denim skirt design which Janie said came from her shameful addiction to DeGrassi: The Next Generation. While we can all lament Janie’s questionable taste in television, we can all be certain that this skirt is a total winner. I chose the lighter color denim wash here, but it also comes in a deep indigo too. (I bought both, of course!) It’s perfect with a sweater, (warm) tights and boots, or looks pretty awesome paired up with a tee and sneaks.
I’ll round out this mini round-up with my favorite design from Ariel Black’s recent releases. Shown to the right, it’s a longer top paired with a cute white system mesh skirt. There’s a lot of detail in this outfit on the waistline of the skirt and also in the top, especially with the color accents at the shoulder yoke and actual fabric texture of the top itself.
