Princess for a day

By Celebrity Trollop | November 14, 2006

milady_purple.jpgSnapshot_001.jpgIt’d been a while since I visited with Sparkle Skye, designer behind the Allure brand. Sparkle is probably best known for her incredibly detailed silks, but it seems as if lately she’s been working hard on a line of almost medieval inspired gowns. Last night I had the chance to visit her store in ImagineNation — and I could hardly believe how much things had changed. She had a completely rebuilt store for starters, and second Sparkle had embarked on a line of jewelry — this in addition to her hair and silks.

And wow, what a stunning design she’s put together here. Milady comes in 7 different colors, and most of them have a choice of silver or gold embroidery embellishments. (You can see them all on Sparkle’s blog) I’m wearing the “sage-gold” combination here. Each gown comes complete with a color matching tiara, a flexiprim train, and a jewel adorned flexi-prim mantle. Just about the only piece that’s missing are the shoes — and those are coming soon, Sparkle told me. Right after I put the gown on, I told Sparkle how much like a princess I felt. And later when a customer purchased the same color I was wearing in the store, she said the exact same thing!

Sparkle also passed me a copy of her new jewelry design called Thorns of Love which comes in 4 metal choices (from platinum to various shades of gold) plus a scripted color change gem. With the scripted gem, this set becomes incredibly versatile — it is probably a little too formal looking to wear with a tee shirt and jeans, but in any sort of formal it will be a stunning (bling free) finish for your overall look.

  1. [...] I wanted to round up all of the beautiful creations that have been rotating top spot on my avatar’s head lately. Think of them as little cakes to devour while you wait to log back in… OK, first up is this ultra brand new release by Tami McCoy named “Alluring.” It’s a high curly gathered pony style with some killer bang work in the front. It’s “almost” an updo, but for the dangling strands on the bun. It comes in Tami’s normal 10 colors, and her “caboodle” packs which are 5 colors for the price of 4. Get it in Dixie sim. (S: No, R: No, F: No)Next up is Sparkle Skye’s brand new entry in her “Princessa” line — Updo II — a gorgeously abundant braided bun, styled complete with hair jewels and some really tasty frosted tips. Princessa Updo II can be found in Sparkle’s store on ImagineNation island. It looks fabulous with Sparkle’s Milady gown. (S: Yes, R: Yes, F: No)I happened to run into Aleri Darkes over at Sol Columbia’s Luminosity store a few nights ago where she was modelling her awesome short style named “Tempt.” I wore this successfully with everything from a ultra-brief silk to a full ball gown. I teased Aleri (gently and with good humor!) about needing more frosted and tipped hair textures. She promised she’s working on them — and she’s just started to master alpha on her hair textures. It’s a technique which has been put to excellent use in this hair style. Find it at Diversity Hair. (S: Yes, R: Yes, F: Yes)Lost Thereian is killing me with his Angel line of hair — although if I were to die from prim hair, I’d be honored to shuffle off this mortal coil wearing this one. Here’s Angel III, the latest one. Tantalizingly, the name of this ad was actually “Angel IV” so maybe there’s a secret as-yet-unreleased Angel style still on Lost’s hard drive. Let’s all hope so! Naughty island has undergone a bit of a makeover, all in an attempt to rez things more quickly and make shopping a more pleasant experience. (Read more about it here) (S: Yes, R: No, F: No)Finally, Six Kennedy has been super busy with “not hair” for a while — setting up a new blog, revamping the front table in her sim, and other things — I know she’s been fighting off a cold recently. But she still had time to work on several new hair styles and this one, Sass, is definitely one of my favorites. I’ve been wearing it a lot lately, putting it with denim, with knits and with semi-formals. It looks great with everything. (S: Yes, R: Yes, F: Yes) [...]
