(I know this article headline will bring in some interesting search engine queries but I just couldn’t resist…)
I was in world very briefly this morning to take some last minute pictures and had the opportunity to ask Starley Thereian about the beta skins that she’s been working on for the past several weeks. I wanted to know if she was still planning to release them in December like she wrote in her blog a while back. She said she’s still finalizing a few last details, but they’re mostly done. The hold up in the release appears to be the latest “save-as” permission related bug — since the skin comes with the modify permission enabled — not being able to “save as” is a potential customer service nightmare. So as of right now, there’s no official ETA when these skins go on sale, but I imagine it would be soon after the “save as” bug has been resolved.
I told her how much I admired the knee shading especially, and she mentioned she’d redone part of it since I saw the initial beta. But that’s not all. A lot of the skins bone and muscular shading and highlighting has been retouched, revamped and redone. In these first two pictures of the back of the skin, I’d like to draw your attention to the detail areas around the back of the knees, the back itself - the shoulder blades and the spinal column have all been made softer, subtler but still distinct and expertly defined. (As always, click on a picture to see it at full resolution.)
I forgot to ask Starley just how many makeups she’s planning to launch the new skin line with, but given Starley’s skill, they will be stunning, I’m certain. This base makeup I’m wearing is nude lips with a true neutral grey eyeshadow and black eyebrows. But again the skin is mod OK, so it should be possible to adjust the skin tone and the lipstick sliders at a minimum.
To be completely honest, even just this little taste of things to come has whetted a serious appetite for a complete set. There are nuances and details in this skin line which I haven’t even fully found yet — and wearing Starley’s skins, whether Passport, Charmed or a special release, always makes me feel so very beautiful. This skin is no exception.
In these photos: skin: Unnamed Beta (base/mod) by Starley Thereian, Celestial Studios; eyes: Deep Brown by Starley Thereian, Celestial Studios; hair: Elise (champagne) by Starley Thereian, Celestial Studios
Seen in world: Yes
Review copy: Yes
Friends list: No
(Full frontal shot after the cut, in case your work isn’t in a Mature sim.)
Details to note in the front of the skin include the collarbone and small of the neck, the abs and tummy, and the inside of the elbow joint.

Thanks for the preview, I’m so glad you like the skin! I just thought I’d clarify that the hold up right now is ME not being able to perform the “Save As” function to even make the skins! Hopefully they’ll get that up and running (properly!) soon so I can get back to work. There are still a few minor details I still want to fiddle with and then I can start deciding how to handle makeups and skintones and moddability. I get a headache just thinking about it. :))
