The personification of pretty things

By Choice Sliter | October 31, 2006

I’ve been collecting some items over the last few days that can generally be described as delicate and pretty. All delicate and pretty. Qualities so hard to achieve. But sometimes it is all we want to be. The writing in this post is inspired by Kit Maitland. She released two “school girl” outfits the other day (inspired by Luminosity’s recent release). On her blog she wrote these delightful personifications of the outfits that were so much more fun to read than a list of components and colors. And since I can’t let a great writing exercise slip by without my taking a whack at it, I bring you these delicate, pretty things personified for your reading pleasure.

Adam n Eve: Ballerina

Ballerinapalepink.jpgDon’t let the lace fool you. Ballerina is not here to be placed in your music box. She may dance for you, but only if she likes the music. And don’t accuse her of starving herself to pre-adolescent, waif-like thinness. Can’t you see her apple-bottom winking at you from beneath her tutu? This Ballerina is all woman. She’s strong and flexible, in all the ways you’ve imagined.

Ballerina twirls for you in six colors. Read all about her on the Adam n Eve blog.

caeserforumad.jpgShe smiled, in spite of herself. The organza, expertly disguising her impish spirit. She felt as though she had just floated down from another world. Perhaps been resurrected from a peaceful sleep. She was timeless and delicate. She was feminine and sweet. But it was only when she wore this dress, that her precocious side could be so well concealed.

caesar is available in six soft shades. You can learn more about her at the silentsparrow web site.

Digital Knickers: Delilah’s Jewels

DkDelilahJewels.jpg Her mother always told her that temper would make her do regrettable things. It’s so hard having the weight of the world on your shoulders, trying to be everything to everyone. she asked to change on a whim, as though going from purple to orange is such an easy task. Sometimes she becomes unbound. She swings violently. She’s not trying to hurt anyone. She just can’t decide whether the wings she wants to wear are those of angels or demons.

Delilah’s Jewels comes with a choker, two armands, two bracelets, an anklet and earrings. You can unearth more at the Digital Knicker’s blog.
