Spider Queen

Kala Bijoux has occasionally dabbled her toe into the big ocean of Second Life garments — she’s a renowned maker of wings and things — but she has the costuming bug and this is the first garment. There’s plenty of really remarkable detail and texturing goodies going on in this outfit (try playing “Where’s the spider in this web?” all over the outfit), but I am struck by the overall effect of the garment. It weaves together all of the elements of a “classic” Second Life garment design, only turned on its ear by the spookygoth construction materials. It sounds like Kala’s inspired from her blog post, so hopefully more Halloween treats and tricks are on the way.

Woops. This must be amazing because I was blogging it too :-) no need for two posts. Here is what I had to say:
I was just doing a quick blog hop, when this new item jumped off the screen at me from Kayla Bijoux of Material Squirrel. According to her blog, it is a Tim Burton-inspired outfit that is part of her Halloween collection. But I must say, it is a sexy, lacy delight for all the vamps, goths, and dark faeries out there. The set is a wonderfully imaginative. The design conveys a visual sense of silky webbiness, which is so different from the spider cut outs and applique styles I am used to seeing. It’s very lovely, especially the semi-transluscent skirt. I think this set could be equally amazing in pastels or white, but it’s devlishly delicious in black.
