More costumes from Rebel, Astry, and paeoti
By Choice Sliter | October 20, 2006
I just couldn’t let this week end without getting to a couple of gorgeous costumes I missed, while recovering from the flu.

First we have Bat Girl from Rebel Hope. I am crazy about the sleek shading and soft-fetish look of this costume. The shading on the wings is excellent and the little bat ears are a nice touch. From the blog:
Bat girl is a 16 pieces costume with great detail taken to each piece. She includes finely laced up bodice and shorts, boots w/cuffs, wrist cuffs, flex wings, lighting kit that gives her illumination at night, belt, fangs w/blood and without, collar, bat ears, coffin with lay crossed armed pose and blood red candles that accent the coffin and note card discussing some bat facts.
Oh, and it comes with a free Halloween skin! Rebel also released an awesome set of his and her Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein costumes that are definitely worth having a look
at.

Offering a completely different interpretation of Frankenstein’s Bride, however is Astry Mirabeau of Digital Knickers. I really like the laced bodice on the overcoat. The hair and skin are sold separately (sources are here). Also released this week is Astry’s Dorothy costumer inspired by the girl of the same name who wished she was home. I have seen a few other great renditions of Dorothy this season. This one is frilly and somewhat burlesque. But best of all, it includes the ubiquitous red slippers and heel click. Like Rebel, Astry has quietly released some other costumes recently that you can view on her blog.

Last not but not least, paeoti Pomeray has joined in on the doll craze that has swept over us this Halloween and introduced her version of the ragdoll costume, Raggedy Annie. This is a wild rendition of the traditional rag doll costume, that seems to owe is heritage to vaudeville. I love that it gave me yet another opportunity to play with my Sugar and Spice Doll skins from Tete a Pied. You can read the details about this costume on paeoti’s forum post.

Just to clarify…the skin does not come with Bat Girl. It will be a free skin offered by Ambyance2 Anubis later next week. Also, the Monstah costumes were a colabroation between myself, HoseQueen McLean and Zyrra Falcone. Thanks!
