Update: Gothy-cute avatars from Nocturnal Threads

Update [CS]: kaia has updated her blog with some delightful pictures of the avs in world, as they tour some of SL’s Halloween haunts. Good review info if you’re looking to do some Halloween sight seeing. These are also great product shots to review if you’ve fallen in love with the GingerDead comic and are curious about the avs.

Review of A Lonely Night in October
I just spotted these two avatars in new products and my stomach was practically aching from the creepy cuteness. GingerDead and Lenior are avs based on characters from kaia Ennui’s (aka calan ree) RL web comic, GingerDead. I absolutely love the black and white, heavy ink style of the illustrations, which is what caught my attention on the avs. Both come with custom AOs and poofers and are available only through Halloween right now at Noturnal Threads, as well as the Sleepy Hollow sim (but only through Halloween).
GingerDead looks like th Gingerbread Man, if the the Gingerbread Man lived in Sleepy Hollow. Lenior, on the other hand, is skeleton-style av who would look right at home hanging out with the Pumpkin King, himself. The bow attached to her skull just kills me.
The beauty of Second Life is that Halloween can be more than just dressing up your av. It mean changing avs all together. I find both of these chacracters to be darkly cute, and the fact that they are SL interpretations of an artist’s own 2D work, makes it even more special. Hiya. Thanks for the review of the avatars. One correction, they are available beyond Halloween as it is a part of my new GingerDead collection which includes fashion, accesories and avatars. In fact, at least one other avatar is in the making now.
The avatars are only available in world at my main store and in the Sleepy Hollow sim. That sim poofs on November 1st so perhaps that is what through you. Anyway, cheers for the mention and link to the comic!

Very clever items, especially the Not Milk tee, pajamas, and red umbrella. It’s exciting to see this kind of promotional tie-in for a native SL designer. I’m think many people will be as attracted to the collection as I am. And the comic is fun, too. Good luck with it all!
