boing fromage brings us boyish vests

Wow. Try saying that title five times fast.
If you are fan of the much beloved fashion site, PxP, then you know that this has been a hard week for designer, elka Lehane, and she has decided to take a break from fashion blogging for a while. While I am looking forward to the day when I can once again see her cute, cartoony face modeling great finds from all over the grid, I am glad that the blogging break gave elka time to create one of this season’s hottest trends: the man-tailored vest.
The Grandpa’s Autumn Vests from boing fromage (!BF!) are wonderful jacket layer pieces that can blend in with any number of looks. These are hand drawn vests that, as the name suggests, look like you may have found them in your grandfather’s closet. The subtle plaid pattern looks truly vintage, and works well with elka’s muted color palette. I not only adored the way these look, I loved the names:
- Chocolate & Coffee
- Dijon & Cement
- Grass & Glass
- Plum & Cream
I am wearing just three versions in the photograph (shown right), but there are five versions included in the pack for just L$120 (shown in ad photo on left). Notice how the vest blends so easily with various clothing styles, but looks great on it’s own over bare skin. Whether you’re a fan of vintage looks, romantic, or even thrift shop chic, these vest are a great addition to the wardrobe. It’s a key trend for Fall that have been interpreted in a timeless and understated way.
