New releases from caLLie cLine and [Shine]
While I was checking out the new dress released last night at Casa de Shai, I popped over to [Shine] to see if Gita Gaea had added anything to her collection. Indeed she had. Why this woman refuses to post on New Products and let us all take part in her work, I do not know. But what I do know is that Gita is very good at creating feminine clothes with special touches.
The blouse I’m wearing is called Vicky’s wrap. It comes in this shade, called Leaf, and another rose-colored tone. It’s a beautiful wrap blouse with a tonal floral print. It has an asymmetric hem and hand drawn tie in the back. I don’t know when these shirts were released, but they were definitely not in the store when I told you about [Shine] last week.
What takes this blouse from simple and pretty, to vintage-inspired and finished, is Gita’s addition of two prim shoulder ruffles that have been carefully textured to look like a natural part of the outfit. This is beautiful work. And someone doing work this good needs to make sure every fashionista on the block knows about it. So if you know Gita, can you grab her tell her to stop hiding already?
One of Gita’s fantastic neighbors at Lalique is caLLie cLine. Today, caLLie release a pair of worn and faded unisex jeans called, Signature Denim Jeans. These are mid-rise jeans that are broken in and lightly-frayed. This has been a common jean theme recently as everyone has grown tires of seeing their SL jeans look like they’ve just been pulled off the rack. What sets caLLie’s apart is her introduction of a prim button cover, which she calls a “belly button.”
First in what will be a series of jewels, trinkets, and other designs, this prim attachment is a dimensional accessory and is a creative departure from belts or scarves. If you don’t care for the attachment, caLLie has included a textured button on the jeans, but I was really intrigued by caLLie’s concept of jean jewelry.
