Week(end) in Review 09.24.06: Hair
By Choice Sliter | September 24, 2006
Wow. So much hair came out this weekend, I decided to do a sequel to this weekends roundup and make it all about hair. You designers are so prolific, I am constantly amazed. This is not a listing of all hairs released this weekend, simply highlights of the ones I think you should check out. You will also notice that I am doing a shorthand for the disclosure info to keep this post from getting too long: W=Seen in world, R= Review copy received, F=On friends list, Y= Yes, N=No.
Presented alphabetically for your reading pleasure :-)
Adam n Eve: Barbarella and Mussed
View Images
sachi Vixen released the
long and lovely, Barbarella as well as a his and her style called
Mussed.
Mussed is short and funky with a scripted headband. It doesn’t
work for my personal look, but it is a cute style that I can picture it
on a lot of people. You can read about the style and view the men’s
version on sachi’s blog. W: Y, R:Y,

Curious Kitties: Oddette and Loretta
I admit that I had been thrown off by the hair coloring displayed in Helyanwe
Vindaloo’s ads, that it never occurred to me that they’re available in more natural shades (*blush*). However, I really liked the shape of Oddette. The
random pieces sticking out are cute. I also really liked the duality in
Loretta: fun on one side, wild on the other. You can view the forum post here. elka Lehane is wearing them in a deep brown shade, here. W:

ETD: Fanned, Pullback I & II, Lilyannah, Angel, and Young

Not
only did Elika Tiramisu surprise us with a weekend full of treasure hunting in
honor of the ETD anniversary, but she release six new styles: three
couture and two regular, and a new style for newbies. I love both
Lilyannah and Pullback II, which I tried on demos for. I also love the
newbie style, Young, which is a simple and pretty up do. You can read
an overview and review from Willow at PxP. Elika also has info on all
of the styles on her blog. W: Y (Young, Lilyannah, and Pullback II) R:N, F:N

Goldie Locks: Anya and Oriya, Selu Unbound, and Breathless
Selena
Gateaux released four new styles this weekend, after having a lot of
trouble getting in world earlier this week. My favorite is Selu
Unbound, which is a revision to Selu (released on Tuesday).
Apparently a lot of people disliked the hair bands. I actually love
the way they look in profile, but head on, I prefer the Unbound look.
You can check out the releases on Selena’s blog.

GuRL 6: Star, Duckie, Mickey, Toni and Staples

Six Kennedy
released several styles this weekend including a new style for newbies
called, Mickey. It’s available for just L$1 and accounts of any age can
purchase it, it’s merely an inexpensive option for people just getting
started. Though my personal fave of the releases are Star and Toni,
which both have a sultry, but not fussy look. Willow does a detailed
rundown of many of the styles on PxP. You can also view and read about
all of the styles on the GuRL6 blog. W: N, R:N, F:N

Kin Keiko: Pin Up Hair
When I saw this hair modeled on
Antonia Marat, I gasped. If you are a fan of retro, rockabilly, or
burlesque, this hair is a must buy. The long curls can be worn forward
on the shoulders or left dangling on your back. 11 colors and
absolutely stunning. View forum post here. W: N, R:N, F:N
[RANDOM]: Maggie and Sandra

Garbage Prototype released two new hairstyles with her signature, texture change script. I find Sandra to be the more appealing of the two styles. It’s a simple, knotted ponytails with alpha prims. You can view Garbage’s forum post here. W: N, R:N, F:N

WigOut: Abby, Jordan, Marty, Candace, Sadie, and Shane
Jamie
Marlowe claims to have been uninspired last week, so she turned to
hair. Given the fact that she also managed to release seven outfits,
all I can say is that I wish I could have uninspired weeks that were
that productive. My personal faves are Sadie and Candace,
but all the styles have the same flirty cuteness of Janie’s clothes.
Below you will find links to all of her other hair releases. You can
read about them all on her blog. W: Y (except Sadie and Shane), R:Y (except Sadie and Shane), F:N
Zero Style: Pig Tail

Rei Gully brings us very simple pig tails with alpha prims. I particularly like how this style looks from behind. It’s good to be attractive both coming and going. You can view the forum post here: W: N, R:N, F:N
