Celebrity Gets a Mini Me

Well, not really. But you can call me Fashionette: an SL fashion ingenue.
Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I intruding on Celebrity’s turf?
Well, the answer to the first question is: Choice Sliter. The answer to the third is: she asked me to. The second question requires a little story…
Back when I was just a few days old, a newly born SL hatchling still putting boxes on my head, I ran into a Second Style kiosk. After having already discovered PxP and the New Products Forums, I was quite fascinated by the world of Second Life design. But when I downloaded my first issue of Second Style, I was blown away by RL quality of the magazine. I was also fascinated and enamored that someone was covering a virtual industry in such a serious and respectful manner.
But something was bothering me…
Sometimes I would see a then where there should be a than. I spotted to’s where there needed to be too’s. For an anal-retentive, grammar-zealot like me, these things make me crazy (I have written long posts about it on my personal blog). So on a lark I decided to send an e-mail to the editor with a link to my blog and offer up my copy editing services, with hopes that I might also get a chance to write some day.
I never expected a response. I mean, who was I but a know-nothing-newb actually suggesting that I should be allowed to change its to it’s? But I did receive a response and, a week or so later, I happily went to work inserting commas and dashes, as well as doing some higher-level content editing. The powers that be liked my work. At publishing time I was officially given the titles of Associate Editor and Director of Promotions.
So, what should you expect from me here?
Much like Celeb has done, I will post blurbs about new releases that have caught my eye as well as items that I have bought. I will also write about things that I think are of greater interest to the fashion community.
With so many releases every day, it is simply too much for one person to handle. I have the luxury of being unemployed in RL. So, I am able to visit many, many, many fashion blogs, see all the New Products posts, and visit shops. As with all things, reporting in SL requires time, and I have a lot of it right now.
But don’t worry, you will still hear from Celebrity on a regular basis. She is not leaving you. She’s just getting some help. It is our goal to make this site a reliable stop on your daily fashion blog crawl. And we hope you have fun with us while you’re here.
