What should replace the classifieds?

Everyone knows the new products classifieds are going away — it will take longer, but they’re going, going, gone. I am very curious to hear from readers what kind of system they’d like to see replace the new products classified forums. I’ve been thinking about this myself for several days.
I’ve heard everything from blogs, to 3rd party forums, to email listservers to hybrids between all three. What do you all think? I’m really curious to know.
For my own part, I’d like to see a hybrid forum/email type site which permits you to browse among all of the new items on the web and also get an email with the same content which matches up a set of criteria you’ve chosen on your account.
