What Iris hath wrought

By Celebrity Trollop | July 10, 2006

YumiA new label for Dazzle, Tokyo Atelier. Iris Ophelia writes in her blog:

Ginny’s crediting me for the “seeds” of the idea in more than just a passing way, but really, I love Yazawa’s style, and Yazawa’s stories, I’m just happy to see them evolve like this. The line is absolutely gorgeous so far, and I know it’ll only get better. It’s such a fairy tale for me.

And Ginny wrote:

From its harajuku district to the famous european couturiers who have boutiques in the heart of the city, Tokyo represents a merger of high style with the fantastical…

hey’re a departure from the usual for me - and I love what DHC has become - ultra-feminine, modern, chic…but this is a welcome evolution.

When I first saw Ginny wearing this last night, my first reaction was “zOMG! Anime-Ginny!!” One really cute detail about Yumi is that the stencil on the left side of the denim shorts is different for each color. Pink for example has a heart, mint a butterfly, and so on. The coat is fantastic and would make a really funky mix-n-match combo with some less-anime-ish styled clothing. It and sister release “Dolly” are available from Dazzle in Innamoramento.
