Update: I already had these two Forbidden outfits queued up for posting in my experiment, so I wanted to update my initial Forbidden coverage with my own thoughts and impressions.
I love the store build — it’s a really pretty and well designed place to shop for fashion. I think the best thing at Forbidden, so far, are the shoes. OMG, have you seen the shoes? They’re really scrumptuous — every one of them a true winner. In the blue dress (She’s All Frills), I’m wearing the blue beaded sandals — they are Teh Cute. They go perfectly with the hue of the dress — I wish they came in more colors because these are fantastic. The flats I wore with Tray Calamari’s Licorice outfit — they come in a three pack in basic colors. Perfect with all of the casual styles that Forbidden sells. And finally, they have a color changing diamond strappy sandal which allows you to control the shoe base, the strap colors and the gem color. 66 options — they’ll go with just about anything in your wardrobe, even mine. You can see those in the black and white dress (”Poof”) where I set the shoe base to white and the strap colors to black (and left the diamonds at the default color.)
As for the clothing, “She’s All Thrills” is my favorite design — so far. It’s just a flat out gorgeous dress, and with the wide scoop front (on the jacket layer) you can put a shirt underneath for a more modest look, or you can bare all if you dare. (I dare. In SL, anyway. :D) I wish some of the designs were decoupled into individual colors instead of all boxed up together, but the prices are reasonable enough that I didn’t mind.
Bottom line: Good clothes, amazing shoes, great store, fun shopping there.
In the top picture: skin: Luxe 2.0 (Berry Red) by Lo Jacobs, Luxe; hair: Razored (chocolate frost) by Elika Tiramisu, ETD; jewelry: Tula (turquoise) by Adrianna Christensen, Sunshine Design; dress: She’s All Frills (blue) by Forbidden; shoes: blue with orange beaded sandals by Forbidden
In the bottom picture: skin: Fair tone, coffee eyeshadow by Lost Thereian, Naughty Designs; hair: Lindsey (brown with blonde highlights — one of my favorite hair textures ever!) by Selena Gateaux, Goldie Locks; jewelry: Beaded Pearls by Ninja Petion, Digital Dragon Designs; dress: Poof (black) by Forbidden; diamond strappy sandals by Forbidden
I wanted to swing by Forbidden and see it for myself, but Canimal posted a nice review over at PXP, and I thought the ad was great — so I’m posting this as a reminder to myself to go look as soon as I can. The ad promises that “you won’t be disappointed” and based on the snapshots I’ve seen so far, that seems to be quite true. I also saw Scarlet Singer shopping and snapping pics of her new look on snapzilla, so I pulled it in — these dresses really do look great. Definitely looking forward to swinging by as soon as I can. Find Forbidden in Vanuatu.

Posted by: Scarlet Singer on July 15th, 2006 at 2:33 amI’ve been mostly away for some months and haven’t kept up with the SL-related blogs, but now I’m glad I’ve found yours. Pretty nice work you’re doing here, for the misfortune of our wallets, hehe.
And yes, these outfits here seem like I won’t be disappointed in them either. :)
