Paper Couture: A fashion mystery

I need to share a most incredible and wonderful shopping experience I had tonight at Paper Couture — an enigmatic new line of clothing by the “Lu” sisters, Ava, Prue, Mimi, Mare and Cora. Their motto is “we make fashion into art” and having seen their store and purchased a lot of the initial clothing line releases, they are so right on about that statement. It’s so obvious this is a group of experienced content creator alts — the mysterious question is who? And why use alts?
Paper Couture is housed, for the moment, at the top of Cristiano Midnight’s skyscraper in Sistiana. The coordinates are Sistiana (32, 231, 74) — but you’ll have to use the teleporter just outside of the ground floor by a palm tree to get into the store. The group has a lavishly decorated — simply drop dead gorgeous store, all done in a beautiful well lit off-white tone with baked on lighting and shadowed textures. No group of 10 day old noobs built this place.
The clothes are truly superb. Truly works of art. The shading, attention to detail and styling are all really amazing. A great many of them could’ve come right off the pages of any glossy real life fashion magazine: Vogue, Elle, Glamour. I teleported over four of my friends to take a look with me and the reaction was fairly universal. First you gasp at the sheer beauty of the store, and then you start buying outfits with wild abandon, each one seemingly more impressive and gorgeous than the last.
It’s not just clothing either. Paper Couture has a line of elegant matching shoes, a line of couture jewelry and glasses to polish off any outfit they sell. And the prices are extraordinarily reasonable. Most everything is L$200 or less. Although none of the items are transferrable by default, you can request gift editions, if you so desire.
It was really difficult to choose just two things to show off in this post — but I did. The top photo is Paper Couture’s “Red Hollywood with Diamonds.” And indeed it is! The bottom outfit is “Hand Dyed Silk, Black to Pearl.” But truthfully, I could’ve picked almost any two outfits in this collection and made stunning ads for it. The Paper Couture team certainly has — they put together a little THiNC based catalog of the current releases which one can browse as a HUD attachment.
As Six Kennedy said, “I want them to make more. Right now!” I do too. This is fantastic, fabulous, magical clothing — and I hope just the beginning of a whole new couture thematic line. But the mystery lingers — who are these Lu sisters, really? I have some theories, but before I make a post titled J’ACCUSE!! I want to see if I can confirm my hunches.
