Relay for Life 2006 is a runaway train– In a good way. It’s shattered all expectations, and the Great Forum Blackout of ’06 couldn’t mask the light of these products for long! From Digital Dragon Designs, a pair of pink flip-flops (white are also available) Oh ho hum just flip flops? Not even close. Take a closer look at that picture. The flip-flop straps have little awareness ribbon texture detailing. So tiny, so tasty, they’re absolutely adorable. Also available from DDD are a set of pink ribbon tattoos that are so sweet and simple, and come with a variety of tattoo positions. Pick all these items up at Digital Dragon Designs in Keundot.
Another Relay For Life release are the cancer awareness jewelry sets by Charlene Trudeau of SkyBeam Architecture. These feature ribbon colouring for many kinds of cancer, not just breast cancer as selected by the Pixels in Pink team. While I fully support Pixels in Pink, I often feel remorse at the support offered to Breast Cancer in charity events, compared to other equally important kinds of cancer. More info about Charlene’s line can be found in her forum post.
sachi Vixen was gracious enough to drop a couple colours of her new Sparkler hair on me after my post about the forum issues (which are now resolved, by the way.) I know I’m prone to gushing about things I like, but this has got to be the most beatiful flexi ponytails I’ve seen so far. The movement is just beyond compare, and sachi has a wonderful array of richly detailed and vibrant textures. Fans of sachi’s hair will not be disappointed, and newcomers to it will be pleasantly surprised. Find Sparkler and others at Adam n Eve in Genesis.
The forums have been down for maintenance since yesterday. That means the lifeline for fashion updates has been SEVERED, and I am drawing very near a state of mild panic! Please, if you have new releases while the forums are down, IM me or HeatherDawn so they can have a fighting chance.
Just when i got my Linden balance up out of the red zone, Fallingwater Cellardoor released these tasty Clompies. This is one case where I wish Fallingwater would released uberpacks with all the shoe colours. As is, each colour shoe sells for $300L, and comes with both a plain style shoe, and a version with highly polished metal plates and studs. Grab a pair or five at Shiny Things in Hotei.
In SL, where a perfect figure takes only a few clicks instead of a few weeks of grapefruit and salmon, skin always seems to be in. That means that for every one-piece bathing suit out there, there are 20 bikinis, if not more. Some would argue that the one-piece bathing suits just aren’t attractive enough, and I will send those people to Wanda Rich’s shop, PX2. She just released a top and bottom ensemble that work as shirts, as well as one of the very best bathing suits that I’ve seen in Second Life to date.
Wanda Rich has a very distinctive sleek and skintight texturing style, and her designs are always super sexy without showing excessive skin. Check out this Black Bodysuit at her shop in Whitlock.
I mentioned my passion for contemporary japanese fashions in my first guest entry here. Japanese youths doing everything from dressing like dolls to making kimonos out of studded vinyl. Kru Flan is a designer that I can’t get enough of, and her designs reflect the sides of japanese style that are typically what we would identify as punk. Her latest outfit, Girly Rock Singer is a nice example of this.
She dreams the success as a rock singer.
so she always carries about the guitar case.
Her cigar smells like cherry.
She loves it so much.
Will you be interested in her?
As with Kru’s other outfits, everything from skirts to socks to accessories is included. This outfit is based on a rocker chick character I quite adore from the Japanese movie/comic/series “Nana”, and as I would love to recreate her look, I’d be much obliged if someone could point me in the direction of one of those armoured claw ring things! Pick up this rocking outfit at Kru’s Boutique in Usagi Kingdom!
o0o0o0o! I love running in to quality designers that I’ve never heard of before. I took one look at this outfit and had to head to the store. I found a store full of men’s clothing by Radical Twang. Trinitee Trilam takes a space in one corner and has a few things up for sale. They are very well done. I hope she plans on expanding her collection. I can’t wait to see more.
This particular piece is called Flutterby. It has a cutsey punk blend that can fit the taste of almost any style.
Includes many items to make the style your own:
- Very stylish pink tank top
- Short and Long black and pink striped gloves
- Black shorts
- Black 3 quarters with prim cuffs
Pick it up at the shop in the sky in Sanddalgi.

Three cheers for Hair Saturday. Well, technically 5 are in order. Tonight Elika released 4 new hairstyles, and one new Pixels in Pink style.
Hope- As seen in the picture. A long, flexi-do with a top-knot featuring a pink band looped in. 100% of the proceeds are going to the American Cancer Society, remember!
Grand- A curly updo with cleanly parted, sassy bangs.
Ginny- Named for Ginny Talamasca, an updo with long flexi trailing peices, sort of like Airy with a little more muscle.
Willis- Mega-cute country girl braids, named for Willow Zander’s nickname.
Tempting- A sweet, mussed bob with chunky layering.
In the way of clothing, Elika released a wide range of revamped jeans, a sweet summery skirt outfit named Elegance, a swanky and vibrant set of halter tops named Alluring, and equally vibrant (and aptly named) outfit called Vibrant Summery, a slinky Sexy Strapped Catsuit, and a pair of tasty Pixels in Pink Pink Ribbon Jeans with a light pink highlight on the blue denim.
I love Saturdays, don’t you? TP on over to Couture Isle.

Gala Phoenix is easily one of the most well-known skin designers in SL, and she released a set of four pink and purple makeupped skins for the Pixels in Pink and Relay for Life fundraising; Wish, Angel, Brave, and Esprit. As with the other charity goodies, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these skins will go to the American Cancer Society, and let me say right now that they are absolutely GORGEOUS.
Pick up singles or the full set on the second floor of the Empyrean Emporium.
Nephilaine Protagonist’s towering emporium known as Pixeldolls was my first experience with nice clothes. By that I mean it was the first place where I ventured beyond the newbie role of playing Hungry Hungry Freebie Hippos. I spent my first two months working for the sole purpose of spending at Pixeldolls and ETD. Nephilaine has a healthy variety of styles running the gamut from contemporary to fantasy. Well a couple days ago, Nephilaine released Citoyenne, an empire-waisted gown with dainty trim along the bottom hem. Today, she released the Citoyenne Bodice, an add-on for Citoyenne as well as a rather adorable top without the dress. The bodice features intricate embroidered textures (Roses, Poppies, and Peacock) that are no dissappointment to Neph fans. Each bodice is an incredibly affordable L75$, and are available at Pixeldolls in Chartreuse.

I heart Canimal. I’ll say that right now. Funky and frisky is a winning combination and Canimal Zephyr has it in spades, so naturally I was beyond thrilled to see her two newest releases, Fantasy and Morbid Sexy.
Morbid Sexy was created when Canimal herself was feeling quite down, and it has a bit of an anarchist feel without being over-the-top. It’s got crisp, clean lines, and I’m in love with the subtle intricacies of the texture. It just wouldn’t be the same itf it was a matte charcoal colour, would it?
Fantasy was created when Ginny Talamasca cheered Canimal up, which explains the polar opposition of these two designs. Fantasy is a frilly, glittery dress for any frou-frou girl to love, and as is shown in the ad, can be suitably punked-up if you so desire. Pick both dresses up at Canimal’s store in Celestial City.
Who’s that girl? Why it’s Iris the Roundup Girl from LindenLifestyles, helping HeatherDawn wrangle this bull of a blog. And have I picked a strange note to start myself off on?
Reserve your judgement. This is an incredibly atypical dress for a woman to wear. That’s right, it’s not meant for children. This is a japanese style subculture known as “Elegant Gothic Lolita”; and it’s in SL.
While many will respond negatively to the word Lolita, this is a fashion scene that thrives in Japan’s Harajuku district, and it’s known for its lacy trim and morbid colour schemes, decking girls out like turn of the century porcelain dolls. Yuriko Muromachi, who is a relatively new designer, has added three “Elegant Gothic Lolita” style dresses to her store that is otherwise full of lush historical costumes. With enchanting frills and ribbon trim, this is a fairly standard step into the EGL world that I just could not resist highlighting. I’ve got a weak spot for the grab bag that is Japanese fashion.
Yuriko admits that the dresses are designed for a shorter, more asian shape, but told me that if the dresses are popular enough, she’ll be working on some with skirt prim proportions set for the stubborn tall avs. The “Elegant Gothic Lolita” dress is available in black, white, and wine at Silver Rose Designs in Caledon.
