June 6: Sweden’s National Day

Today is the National Day of Sweden, and so Tina Bergman — knowing my secret weakness for Scandanavian folk dresses — dropped one on me last night. The dress, the national costume of Sweden was created be Pandora Jensen of PanJen (find her store at PanJen in Koss).
I have to admit my knowledge of all things Sweden is limited to IKEA, Baltika beer when I was in Saint Petersburg (brewed in Russia, owned by Swedes), the Swedish Chef (wow — someone actually took the time to write a wikipedia article about my second favorite muppet! The irony is delicious — I obsess/write about virtual fashion and someone else thinks it’s fun to write about muppets for an online encyclopedia. I love the Internet…) and a passionate love/hate relationship with “Foppa” Forsberg. But in Second Life we all get the opportunity to experience things we couldn’t experience in real life, and this is no different.
So if you’re Swedish — have a good holiday — and if you’re just in need of a cute Swedish folk costume, now you know where to get it: Irene (114, 5, 37).
