Death, Melanie and Yummy: new skins

By Celebrity Trollop | June 12, 2006

MelanieI totally missed Garbage Prototype’s release for her amazing Melanie skin — which is something I’d had a sneak preview of for weeks and I was all psyched about blogging it — and then she released when I was out of town last weekend! Sorry, Garbage! I like the Melanie skin line because it’s a great looking hybrid photosourced and drawn skin. In particular, it has some really nice boob shading (OK, I know that phrase is going to cause some fun Google search hits) so it looks especially good in lower cut tops and swimwear. The makeup choices are basic, every day selections — nothing super exotic. But they will definitely please people who prefer a lighter “less-is-more” approach. Garbage currently has 3 different 5-packs of makeup and four different skin tones to choose from. Try on a demo at the brand new The Random store in Mooloruem.

YummyrightpanelWhen I popped online last night to reset my IM cap, my SL roommate moo Money IMed me: “I have a new skin!” And this was it. There’s an incredible amount of detail on this skin — super photorealistic, even minor imperfections like freckles and moles. There’s even hand drawn tear-ducts — a level of versimilitude I don’t usually demand from a skin — but nice to know someone was thinking about it. I saw the ad by Robin Sojourner this morning, and there’s some really wonderful makeup choices. It looks really lovely on moo, and I’m looking forward to trying on a demo. Find them at Yummy Skins in Serenite.

Death_iTete a Pied released a new four pack of skins called “Dresden Dolls” on Saturday night, but I was really thrilled to see Roslin’s post about the makeup inspired by Neil Gaiman’s character Death from his Sandman stories. (Uhm, not that I’m nerdy enough to read comics, but my favorite Death stories were in the “High Cost of Living” miniseries.) I am so getting these skins! Take a look over at Tete a Pied in Fucosa.
