If you’ve been reading for a while, you probably know that RH Engel is one of my favorite jewelry designers in Second Life, so I was excited to see Rebel announce his latest release in the forums. This is Raven, named for Raven Pennyfeather in honor of the RFyre grand opening (which I missed on Friday — I hear the sim was rockin’ and maxed to the gills! Sounds like a seriously good time.) The Raven set comes with a necklace/earring combo set, and there are also matching bracelets available in seven different stone colors including ruby (shown), aquamarine, sapphire, pink diamond, emerald, diamond and amethyst. I can’t wait to get my hands on this myself, so I’ll see you at Rebel Hope Designs on Isla Del Amor where Raven is exclusively sold. (P.S. I have to find out what lipstick is being worn in that ad! Wow, I love that shade!)
It’s nice to see my one-time SL neighbor Ninja Petion posting his new releases in the forums. When I stopped by to visit and catch up, one of the odd “only in SL” mind bending experiences was seeing an avatar I thought of as “male” suddenly put on a female skin and shape to model this new jewelry release before it got posted — so WAY weird!! In any case, Ninja has been messing around with prims for a good while — back in the day he was making pretty cool furniture — and now he’s turned his attention and talent to all things avatar prim attachment: from hair, glasses, jewelry and probably most famously shoes. I liked this design for it’s its simple elegance, which to me recalls a bit of Ginny Talamasca’s 1er Arro design set. Ninja also made a pair of matching earrings which look fabulous. The morning I saw this post on the forums, I teleported over to Le Cadre so I could be one of the lucky five avatars with one of these exquisitely created limited edition necklace and choker sets by Asri Falcone. As it turns out, I ended up with #1 of 5, and I could not be happier with my purchase. I forgot to look in edit mode at the number of prims this set entails, but it’s got to be a truly huge number — look at the detail on the front of the choker and the matching earrings. It’s just stunning work — I haven’t taken it off since I bought it which is a testament to its versatility as well as its beauty — and for me, one of the best things about this set: no bling, no scripts, just beautiful prims. I have no idea if any of these are left, but honestly, I had so much fun browsing the new Le Cadre build, you might as well go just to see that.
Brooklyn Davis released the Swirls and Pearls set right in the midst of flexi madness, so I am a little afraid no one noticed this great design. This is another simple, but elegant looking clean design with a lot of visual appeal in the textures on the stones themselves. Swirls and Pearls comes in “Purple Haze” shown, Grey Marble and Green Extasy (see Celebrity’s inner editor twitch!) but I forgive — a design like this can dress you up or add some color to something otherwise a little too monochromatic.
