Happy Syttende Mai

Today is Syttende Mai, the Norwegian Constitution Day. All over Norway (and in Minnesota, and maybe even your part of the world) Norwegians and their friends are celebrating. Last week, Antonia Marat posted a note in the forums about the Day for Norway. Along with Max Milosz and Zapper Marat they’ve set up a little shop for all things Norwegian in Second Life over in New Caledon. Antie has, for example, the bunad or national dress (I’m wearing it in the photo left), along with a cool Viking spirit tee for the guys. Max has the obligatory picture of Harold V, a waving Norwegian flag and Zapper Marat made prim Norwegian chocolate bars if you’re feeling really homesick. (Now, I can’t say I’m an expert on Norwegian food, but based on what I’ve tasted in Minnesota — stick to the lefse and chocolate. Everything else can be safely binned! Augh. :D)
